Vesela Kazakova was born in Sofia, Bulgaria. She went on stage for the first time at the early age of 4 together with her twin-sister Bilyana. Both of them participated in the children theater group "Kambana"("Bell"), founded by their mother Snezhina Kazakova - an actress. Vesela studied Acting at the National Academy for Theatre and Film Arts in the actors' class of professor Stefan Danailov. While still a student, she made her professional debut in the plays Antigone, produced by Margarita Mladenova at the stage of "Sfumato" Theatre Laboratory and in The Night Of Rock'n'Roll, directed by Ivailo Hristov at Theatre 1999. Her diploma performance was The Betrothal of Morris Meterrling - produced by Marius Kurkinski at the National Satiric Theatre. After graduating in the year of 2000, Vesela was chosen for the role of Nina in Sea-gull by Anton Chekhov, performed at the National Satiric Theatre for three seasons in a row as a freelancer and worked with directors such as Dessislava Shpatova in Dzen Porno and Irjie Mencel. Vesela's first collaboration with a young director-débutant was for the play Voyzeck performed at the Drama Theatre in the town of Sliven. Crisis In Paradise, another debut play directed by Elitsa Mateeva, brought Vesela her first theater award: Award for best young actress for the role of the angel at the Bulgarian Drama Festival, Shumen 2004. Gradually, she became attracted to producing independent theater projects which take place in unconventional settings, as well to delving into diverse forms of theater act and composition of theater music. For her latest performances - Stereolove and Nightsongs, she has been working as a project manager, co-play-writer, composer and actor. In the meantime, in 2003 she graduated from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. Vesela's first leading role in cinema was in the film of director Svetoslav Ovcharov A Leaf In The Wind in 2001. For the role of a mute girl she won the most prestigious debut award in Bulgaria: the Award "Nevena Kokanova" for Best Young Actress in the Movies at the Bulgarian feature film festival "Golden Rose", Varna 2002. Since then, Vesela has played the leads in 3 more full-length films: Crazy Day - director's debut of Silvia Pesheva, Mila From Mars - a debut of director Zornitsa Sophia, and Stolen Eyes, directed by Radoslav Spassov. Mila From Mars registered the highest box office income of all Bulgarian films that have been produced in the last 10 years. It has received more than 10 awards at international and Bulgarian festivals. For the role of Mila, Vesela won the Best Actress Award at the Bulgarian feature film festival" Golden Rose", Varna 2004. Stolen Eyes was Vesela's first international achievement - for the role of Ayten she was granted the Best Actress Award at the Moscow Film Festival, 2005. Vesela Kazakova is the first Bulgarian actress to receive an invitation to participate in the section for young talents Shooting Stars of the Berlin International Film Festival, which will take place from the 9th to 19th February 2006. In the spring of 2006 she will enter the production of the Hungarian / UK / Bulgarian film, Prima Primavera by Hungarian film director Janos Edelenyi.
