
            Narayan Shankar (Amitabh Bachchan) is a strict Headmaster of Gurukul Boys, a prestigious all-boys university. Narayan wants the best out of his students by placing astronomical emphasis on traditions and discipline only with no room for anything else such as camaredrie, liberties, drama etc. For example; as Principal Head of Gurukul for over twenty five years, he had forbidden his students from any kind of romance - anyone he catches romancing or in love is expelled with no "ifs" , "ands" or "buts"....This film focuses particularly on three of the school's students: Sameer (Jugal Hansraj), Vicky (Uday Chopra) and Karan (Jimmy Sheirgill) who all fall in love.1.Sameer is head over heels in love with Sanjana (Kim Sharma), his childhood friend who already has a steady boyfriend.2.Vicky falls for Ishika (Shamita Shetty), a student at the all-girls university near to Gurukul Boys who is irritated by Vicky every time he comes near her to woo her.3.Karan has a crush /becomes smitten with Kiran (Preeti Jhangiani), a girl he sees one night alone at a train station who is a widow (already married to a famous pilot who is presumed to be dead).All three know that if they're caught they'd be expelled, so they do not pursue their love interests but do remininsce about it in ther free time.Next, comes Mr. Raj Aryan (Shah Rukh Khan) who is welcomed in Gurukul Boys Music College as a Music teacher. Friendly, amicable, and a strong believer in the power of LOVE (especially romantic love) he manages to challenge the status quo. Gradually, he introduces changes that the Principal Narayan dislikes when confronted with them.For example, when the three boys open up to him about their love interests, he encourages them to "follow the heart" and not be disheartened so very easily. He inspires them by telling them that he also has his special love, Megha (Aishwarya Rai) who is dead, but he continues to love her and imagines that she is still by his side now. Raj encourages the boys to continue to stay loyal to their loves.One day Raj throws a party inside the Gurukul campus, inviting the students from the nearby girls' school as part of his plan to spread the message of love in Gurukul.Narayan is furious and threatens to fire him. At this point, Raj reveals to Narayan that he was a student at Gurukul Boys about 10- 15 years ago and he had fallen in love with Megha, Narayan's one and only daughter. Narayan had expelled Raj without ever seeing his face, and immediately Megha had committed suicide. Raj explains to the Principal Narayan his reason to return to Gurukul Boys as a Music teacher - "the hope of changing Gurukul Boys College philosophy and creed on "Zero-tolerance for LOVE" thus, honoring his love for Megha.Raj challenges, dares and also promises a shocked Narayan that before he leaves Gurukul Boys College, he will fill it with so much love that even Narayan will not be able to remove it. Narayan accepts this challenge, and allows Raj to continue as a teacher for a while longer.Subsequently, with Raj's guidance and support the boys -Sameer, Vicky, and Karan -one by one, slowly slowly are able to win over their love interests...Narayan retaliates by tightening the rules of Gurukul Boys College. The students body continue to defy and challenge the rules, form new ones and encourage new ideas which is very encouraging and spreads an atmosphere of happiness.As a last resort to preserve the ethos and creed which he had built for twenty five years for Gurukul College- Narayan decides to expel the three students Sameer, Vicky and Karan.The Music teacher Raj speaks up and pleads on their behalf, explaining to the Principal Narayan how he had instigated the death of his own daughter, and the boys should not be punished as they did not do anything "wrong".Raj also states that he feels Narayan lost the challenge, because his daughter left him and now Raj (who considered Narayan an elder) is leaving him. Raj's stinging words make Narayan realise that changes are needed. He publicly apologises to the students and steps down as the Principal, allowing Raj to take over as the new Headmaster!In a few years time, Gurukul Boys College changes into a university that had an atmosphere honor and discipline mixed with flexibility,love and happiness which was evident on each student's rapport and demeanor.In the last scene- Raj, Narayan and a vague vision of the late Megha walk hand in hand happily together towards the wide open and strong gates of Gurukul Boys College.

            Conrad Valmont (Jason Bateman) is a New York City debutante that has coasted through the years off his family's wealth. As the narrator tells us, his parents left him in the care of their staff as a child while they took a trip around the world. Since then, he's always felt alone and has developed separation anxiety, casually cavorting about with any woman he wants. He frequently visits his therapist Barry (Tony Roberts), to whom Conrad tells that he has lately realized that the women he is sexually attracted to are people he doesn't care for, and the women he cares for are those he doesn't find sexually attractive, and those who happen to be both are usually with someone else. Over the years, he has also been trying to write his second album, constantly using the excuse that he is in the "gathering stages."Conrad's parents cut him off from their money and he has no place to live. While taking the subway, he sees Beatrice Fairbanks (Olivia Wilde), a beautiful woman reading "Sense and Sensibility". The two merely look at each other, but without a word, Beatrice slips Conrad her phone number and gets off the train.Conrad stays with his best friend Dylan Tate (Billy Crudup). The two of them are mutually envious of the other's lifestyle. Together, they go to a party where Beatrice is in attendance. The narrator informs us that Beatrice has been playing classical music on the piano since she was a child, and she has made a career as a model. She is apparently already seeing Dylan, which makes her encounter with Conrad a little awkward. It's clear Beatrice likes Conrad more. Her friend Jocelyn (Jenny Slate) immediately assumes Conrad is nothing more than an affluent rich guy who drinks a lot and has few ambitions.Throughout the week, Conrad and Beatrice start going out behind Dylan's back, despite Dylan explicitly telling Conrad to NOT make a move on Beatrice. The two of them drink and enjoy each other's company, admiring all of each other's nuances. Dylan gets tickets to a show and asks Beatrice to invite someone for Conrad. She brings Jocelyn. Neither she nor Conrad enjoy the show, and afterwards, they all go to a bar. Jocelyn gets drunk and admits her hatred for rich types, and she ends up making out with Dylan. He ends up not sleeping with her.Conrad confesses to Dylan that he has been sleeping with Beatrice. Dylan angrily kicks him out, leaving Conrad to move in with Beatrice. Still, Conrad fears that Beatrice will leave him if she finds out he is broke.The couple go see a performance, when Conrad suddenly leaves Beatrice alone. He later finds her sitting in a cafe with Dylan, laughing with him. This later leads to an argument where Conrad admits he's broke. Beatrice tells him she was just trying to patch things up between Conrad and Dylan. She breaks up with Conrad. As he rides his motor scooter away, he is hit by a truck.After Conrad recovers, he tries to make amends with Dylan and Beatrice. Conrad goes on one last date with Beatrice, and after their last kiss, they realize it is over between them, and they never see each other again. Dylan, although a bit bitter with Conrad, has managed to forgive him. They go out for drinks and Dylan ropes in two women for them to hook up with, but Conrad is still not quite over Beatrice.Conrad's mother comes home and he finds comfort in her arms. After ages, Conrad finally finishes his book, which is inspired by his whole week with Beatrice. The book gets a lukewarm reception. Conrad has also set up a meeting between Dylan and Beatrice at the same show that they went to together. They get back together and later form a jazz duo that gets moderately successful. By now, at the age of 42, Conrad has finally decided to grow up.

Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai


            In 1990, Iqbal Haroon Khan (Jackie Shroff) has his circus in Chicago closed when he's unable to repay his loan. Young Sahir (Siddharth Nigam), his little son, pleads that the two would soon turn the corner. But Iqbal's rejected and commits suicide in front of the heartless bank leader Anderson. Twenty-three years later, Sahir (Aamir Khan) robs various branches of Western Bank of Chicago. Despite all efforts of law enforcement, the robbery isn't foiled and he successfully gets away. Officer Victoria (Tabrett Bethell) calls ACP Jay Dixit (Abhishek Bachchan) and his partner, Ali (Uday Chopra), for help in solving the case. Jay baits Sahir into robbing again by making it known he's on the case and that the thief's an amateur. Sahir poses as an informant for Jay, and manages to gather information on the bank while giving Jay a lead to follow. Eventually, Sahir robs the bank and escapes, but Jay and Ali follow him. Jay, while hanging on a helicopter ladder, manages to shoot Sahir on the left shoulder before he disappears.Sahir has a big premiere of a revamped version of The Great Indian Circus, with his female lead acrobat, Aaliya (Katrina Kaif), involving a trick with him disappearing in one place and showing up in another. The show is a success, but afterwards, Jay, Ali, and the police surround him, knowing he's the thief. Jai says the proof will be the gunshot wound, but when Sahir is examined, there is no evidence anywhere on his body. It is then revealed that Sahir has an autistic twin brother, Samar (also Aamir Khan), who helps him pull off his trick, helps him in planning and pulling of the robberies and he also shows it was Samar who sustained the wound.Jay is fired from the case, but is encouraged by Ali to prove Sahir's guilt by going rogue. Jay eventually finds out about Samar, and sets about finding a way to corner Sahir. Samar, being mentally challenged, is kept in seclusion by Sahir. However, he allows Samar outdoors once a week, and Jay manages to befriend him during this time in order to perform his plan. Samar has fallen in love with Aaliya after performing with her in the circus, but cannot express it. This leads to a rift between the brothers. Jay tries to take advantage of this, but Sahir finds out and thwarts Jay's plan to stop them. When Sahir comes in the disguise of Samar, Jay reveals his true identity and assuming him to be Samar, tells him to surrender since he can give them justice. When Sahir reveals himself, he ties Jay to the track of a roller coaster and tells him that he used Samar for his own benefit. He switches the roller coaster on but Ali arrives in time to save him from being crushed. He decides the only way to catch the brothers is in the act of robbing. Sahir and Samar pull off their final bank heist, and escape. However, the following day, Jay manages to corner them as they're making their way out of town. They rob on 22 May. Samar is hesitant to run when Aaliya shows up, begging him to stop. Sahir surrenders to Jay, asking him to spare Samar. Jai agrees, but right after, Sahir attempts to jump off the dam. Samar grabs Sahir's hand, refusing to let him go. Sahir begs Samar otherwise, saying he can live freely with Aaliya. But Samar says that both of them are born together and should die together. Eventually, the two of them jump off the dam together. Western Bank of Chicago is shut down as a result of the heists, while Aaliya is shown having taken over The Great Indian Circus and still performing for it.

            Raj, Pooja and Tina are childhood friends. While Raj has always been attracted to the vivacious Tina, he is completely unaware of the quiet Pooja's feelings for him.Raj's father decides to move to England with his family to take up a new job, so Raj has to go away from his friends. He makes Tina promise to write to him via e-mail. But Tina soon becomes occupied with other things, so it's the loyal Pooja who writes to Raj; but she always signs with Tina's name to help Tina keep her promise. Raj and Pooja have many things in common, and their e-mails bring them very close to each other. After several years, Raj returns to India for a short vacation. By now, he's in love with the girl he has been writing to, and believes he can recognise her at first sight.When the three of them finally meet, Raj, to Pooja's disappointment, completely ignores her and is besotted with Tina, who is as vivacious as ever. However, during the two weeks of his vacation, he cannot help but notice that the real Tina is completely different from the Tina he knew from the e-mails. He also starts to like Pooja, without realising she is the one he is really in love with.He returns to London, where Pooja coincidentally arrives for an interview, and there he discovers that it was Pooja who wrote all the letters. They confess their love for each other and decide to get married, but fate plays an unexpected trick on them. Back in India, Tina's father has died, leaving Tina all alone in the world. By now, she is in love with Raj as well.Pooja now refuses to marry Raj, since she does not want to break Tina's heart. Raj is the only one Tina has left now. Raj's parents also agree to the marriage, but Raj wants to tell them that he really loves Pooja. Pooja however, still refuses to marry Raj and so he angrily vows to her that he will only marry Tina if she (Pooja) marries someone else on the same day.Enter a friend of Raj's, Rohan Verma. Rohan is greatly attracted to Pooja and the families are all for the match. Pooja bows to the inevitable and agrees to marry Rohan on the same day as Raj and Tina. That way, she hopes to satisfy Raj's condition and ensure Tina's happiness. Rohan realises something is wrong and that Pooja does not love him, but keeps up the charade nevertheless. On the day of the marriage, Tina realises that Raj is really in love with Pooja, so she gives him up and finally Pooja and Raj get married.
