Tommie Earl Jenkins has also been credited for many productions during his career under the name Tee Jaye, to which he is still known by some friends, fans and colleagues.Tommie was born in Canton, Ohio, U.S.A and began his professional career at a very young age. His career to date has led him all around the world from Broadway to UK and US National Tours, to London's West End and beyond. As a young performer, Tommie trained as a classical ballet dancer, having performed in classics such as Swan Lake, Nutcracker, and Sleeping Beauty. He gained his professional dance experience with the Canton Ballet in Ohio, The Duluth Ballet of Minnesota and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in NYC. Tommie was also a recipient of the Dance Magazine Scholoarship Award for the Craft of Choreography Conference held in NY, studying and working with some of the dance worlds leading teachers and choreographers. It was there he was scouted, and offered a contract with The Duluth Ballet of Minnesota.With the love of singing, dancing and acting in his blood, The Players Guild of Canton, is where he found inspiration in his early years, to pursue his dream of working in the theater, and it was there he began to hone his craft by performing in many stage productions. Eventually moving to NYC was inevitable, and necessary, and then eventually finding his way across the pond to Europe. He joined the Hamburg Germany production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical "Cats" which also led him to securing a recording deal with Polydor Records and BMG/RCA as a solo artist. One of his many singles: "Let Me Be Your Love" reached number one in Spain for six weeks on the European dance and radio charts. London would eventually become his home for many years, and still to this day he continues to work on both sides of the Atlantic.Theater would always hold a place in his heart, and some of his most notable musical roles include: 'Barry Belson' in "Jersey Boys" on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre and the original London Company. ''Michael' in the London premiere of Jonathan Larson's "Tick, tick...Boom!" opposite Neil Patrick Harris and later replaced with Christian Campbell at the Menier Chocolate Factory. 'Purlie Victorious' in the London premiere of "Purlie" at the Bridewell Theatre, 'Four-Eyed Moe' in Cameron Machintosh's "Five Guys Named Moe", which was recorded live on stage from the Albery Theatre, now called the Noel Coward Theatre, 'Rum Tum Tugger in "Cats" at the New London Theatre, 'Tyrone Jackson' in "Fame The Musical" at the Victoria Palace Theatre, 'Richie' in the farewell Broadway National Tour of "A Chorus Line" as well as the BBC 20th Anniversary performance with Donna McKechnie and David Soul. Conducted by the shows original Broadway conductor, Donald Pippin. "Genie' in "Aladdin" with Sir Ian McKellen at the Old Vic Theatre London, some other shows include: "Sweet Charity", "Dreamgirls", "Pippin", "The Wiz", "Whistle Down The Wind", and "Godspell".As a Hollywood, television and film actor, Tommie can be seen in many network shows for NBC, ABC, CBS and USA, such as "How To Get Away With Murder'", "Shooter", "American Odyssey", "Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders", "Unsolved: The Murders Of Tupac and the Notorious B.I.G.", and "General Hospital". As a notable voiceover artist, he can be heard lending his voice to many interactive video games, commercials, audio books, and animated television series. Tommie is widely known for his funky soulful tones as the voice of Ubercorn, the funkiest disco loving fact finding unicorn on the planet, on the hit children's television show "Go Jetters".
