Shirley Chen is an award-winning actress who received the "Best Acting in a Narrative Short" in 2018 for her portrayal of "Krista" in the Vanishing Angle short film, "Krista," directed by Danny Madden. She began acting at the age of 10, a passion that led her parents to allow her to move from Washington State to Los Angeles before the start of middle school. Since then, she has appeared in ABC's "Speechless" (2016), Disney XD's "Gamer's Guide" (2016), and ABC's Parenthood (2014), as well as numerous national commercials and independent short films.She is a graduate of the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts in Los Angeles, California, where she majored in theater. In 2018, Shirley began studying at Harvard University, where she majors in History & Literature, with a focus in Asian-American Studies and Theater, Dance, & Media. As a freshman in college, Shirley became a cast member of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, America's oldest collegiate theatrical group.
