Holliston


            The film picks up immediately after the end of the last film 'Hatchet II', with Marybeth Dunston (Danielle Harris) blowing off the head of Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder) with a shotgun. She walks away and comes across the bodies of Vernon and John, where she hears Crowley in the woods. Marybeth starts up the chainsaw, but is grabbed by Victor. Marybeth kicks him, and he falls backwards onto the chainsaw, cutting him down the middle. She grabs a shotgun from one of the men and shoots Victor's head, and walks back into the city.Marybeth walks into the Jefferson Parish Police Department, immediately having guns drawn on her. Upon discovery of the twenty to thirty bodies at Honey Island Swamp, she is placed as the prime suspect in the murders by Sheriff Fowler (Zach Galligan), even after telling him numerous times about the events of the last two films. The Sheriff heads out to the swamp with the paramedics and fire department, leaving Deputy Winslow (Robert Diago DoQui) in charge of the station until he gets back.Amanda Fowler (Caroline Williams), the Sheriff's ex-wife, journalist and Victor Crowley expert, comes into the station to interview Marybeth about what happened, telling Marybeth she wants to help, otherwise Marybeth will be tried and executed for what happened at Honey Island Swamp. After retelling the events of the previous two films to Amanda, Amanda tells her that Victor Crowley is a repeater, set to relive the night he died, looking for his father and that he will keep coming back unless he gets what he wants: his father. She tells Marybeth that her father, Sampson Dunston, was the one that came up with the idea to start the fire many years ago and tried to get him to deliver Thomas Crowley's ashes to Victor over the past several years, only to be pushed to the side numerous times. Since he's dead and she's Sampson's bloodline, only she can put an end to Victor Crowley. Marybeth doesn't believe her, continuously declaring that she killed Victor Crowley the night before.At Honey Island Swamp, the body of Victor Crowley is bagged and tagged and put into the ambulance boat. When the paramedic, Randy (Sean Whalen) is distracted, Victor reanimates and blows Randy's head off with a defibrillator. Victor then escapes back to his house. Deputy Hamilton (Jason Trost) goes to investigate and goes to the boat where Victor appears and kills him by hacking his head in half. Victor then kills 10 other fire department officials and paramedics, leaving Andrew (Parry Shen), Rick and another missing paramedic alive. In comes the SWAT team, led by Hawes (Derek Mears) and consists of six other armed men and one armed woman named Dougherty (Rileah Vanderbilt). Hawes takes over the operation from Fowler and leads them to the Crowley house, where Deputy Elbert (Diane Ayala Goldner) and another Deputy are picked off by Crowley. Crowley ambushes the SWAT team and kills them all. Hawes tackles Crowley but is in turn pinned against the shed and has his spine torn out. While Rick catches Victor's attention, Deputy Schneiderman (Cody Blue Snider) takes the opportunity to fire a rocket launcher at Crowley, but misses and kills Rick, and blows up the Crowley house, destroying it, covering Victor in the rubble. When Schneiderman begins to celebrate, Victor appears from the wreckage and throws a piece of rubble into Schneiderman's back. He then proceeds to kills Schneiderman by ripping his arms off and drowning him in a puddle. Dougherty, Andrew and the Sheriff run for it. Before running, the Sheriff manages to slow Crowley down by shooting in the chest with a handgun.Back at the station, upon hearing the SWAT team getting killed on the radio, Amanda convinces Deputy Winslow to let Marybeth out of jail and help her save everyone at Honey Island Swamp. She has Winslow take her and Marybeth to the house of Abbott McMullen (Sid Haig), Victor Crowley's racist long distant cousin and only living blood relative who possesses the ashes of Thomas Crowley. When he declines to give up the ashes, Amanda holds him at gunpoint and leaves with the ashes.Back at Honey Island Swamp, the other paramedic is chased by Victor Crowley when he hides behind the canoe from the first movie. There, he finds Ben (Joel David Moore), who is still alive, lying in the canoe, clinging to life with his left arm ripped off. As he begs for help, Victor throws the hatchet at the paramedic, misses and hits Ben in the face, finally killing him. As Victor advances towards the paramedic, an alligator comes out of the swamp and pulls the paramedic into the swamp.Victor resumes chasing the Sheriff, Andrew and Dougherty and corners them in the water ambulance. They barricade themselves in and the Sheriff calls for the National Guard on the ambulance's radio, telling them they're being attacked by crazed gunmen. The National Guard tells them they'll be there in ten minutes. Just as they settle down and think everything's all right, Victor begins to saw his way through the boat wall with the gas powered belt sander. The Sheriff tells them not to move, if they try to leave, they'll get killed, while Andrew thinks they should leave while he's busy cutting through the wall.Amanda, Deputy Winslow and Marybeth arrive at the Swamp outside the burned down Crowley house. Amanda calls out for Victor, telling him they have his father. Upon hearing his wife's voice, Sheriff Fowler attempts to leave, only to be grabbed by Victor and beheaded with the belt sander. Andrew and Dougherty are trapped in the boat with Victor on the other side of the broken door. Dougherty attempts to slowly get the Sheriff's gun, but Victor grabs and pulls her through the hole on the door, which disembowels her. Andrew remains in the boat, keeping himself out of sight of Victor.Victor goes back to his home, finding Marybeth, Amanda and Deputy Winslow there. Marybeth offers Victor his father's ashes and apologizes for what her father did to him. Victor proclaims "Daddy" upon seeing the ashes. When he tries to take the ashes, Deputy Winslow shoots Victor, but has his chest ripped apart by Victor. In response, Amanda attempts to take the urn from Marybeth, but is beheaded. Victor then knocks Marybeth over and impales her on a tree branch. Just when Victor was about to pick up a machete to finish Marybeth off, Marybeth smashes the urn over Victor's head, spreading his father's ashes all over him, and causing him to melt. With the last bit of her strength, she grabs one of the SWAT team's guns and blows Crowley away. The National Guard then arrives and Andrew emerges from the boat and signals the helicopters. Just as the screen cuts to black, one final shot of Marybeth gasping for air is shown, leaving her fate ambiguous.
    

Hatchet III


            Set in the Louisiana bayou, it is the story of the legend of Victor Crowley. A group of tourists discover that the legend is real and more horrifying than they ever imagined.Two hunters, Sampson (Robert Englund) and his son Ainsley (Joshua Leonard), are fishing in a swamp during a full moon. Ainsley says he has to use the restroom, and Sampson rows their boat to shore. While Ainsley is urinating, Sampson falls silent; Ainsley goes to see where he is and finds Sampson's mutilated body. He grabs his harpoon, only to be murdered by a monstrous being.During a Mardi Gras celebration in downtown New Orleans, there is a group of friends including Ben (Joel Moore) and his best friend Marcus (Deon Richmond), who have come to have some fun since Ben's girlfriend of eight years recently dumped him. Ben decides to go on a haunted swamp tour, and Marcus agrees to go with him. The two find that the tour is closed because the guide, Rev. Zombie (Tony Todd), was sued for negligence. Rev. Zombie suggests that they try a place farther down the street, owned by the over-the-top, inexperienced tour guide Shawn (Parry Shen). Marcus decides to leave but changes his mind upon seeing two topless girls: Misty (Mercedes McNab), a ditzy porn star, and Jenna (Joleigh Fioreavanti), a bossy, boastful, up-and-coming actress. Their sleazy director, Shapiro (Joel Murray), is also there. Ben pays for himself and Marcus and Shawn leads them to his tour bus, where the other tourists, Jim (Richard Riehle) and Shannon Permatteo (Patrika Darbo), a Minnesota couple, and the quiet, hot-tempered Marybeth (Tamara Feldman) are waiting.Ben tries to make friends with Marybeth, who rejects him, while Marcus takes a liking to Jenna. Shawn does not know what he is doing, which the others realize as they arrive at the swamp. Shapiro has Misty and Jenna strip down and film a scene for Bayou Beavers as everyone boards the boat, while a homeless swamp-dweller warns them away from the swamp. Shawn leads them through swamplands and past abandoned houses, including one where Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder), a deformed creature, lived. Shawn mentions "one night Victor's dad goes crazy and whacks him in the face with a hatchet" while looking at "ghost lights"; however, Shannon sees someone in the trees, and Shawn accidentally crashes into a rock, sinking the boat. To reach land, they must walk across a broken tree. Jim is bitten on the leg by an alligator, making him, Misty and Shapiro fall into the water. They reach shore and run to safety, while Jim bleeds profusely. They realize that Shawn is not a tour guide; he is just a college student looking for money. Marybeth takes out a gun she brought and informs them that her father and brother, Sampson and Ainsley, disappeared while fishing nearby, presumably at Crowley's hands. She then tells them the real story of Victor Crowley.Long ago, presumably the 1940s-60s, Crowley was a deformed boy (Rileah Vanderbilt) who was kept hidden from the world by his father. One Halloween, a group of kids decided to scare Victor by throwing fireworks into his house, but the house was engulfed in flames. Victor's father (also Hodder) tried to hack down the door with a hatchet to save Victor, but because Victor was pressed up against the other side of the door trying to get out, he hit him in the face with the hatchet, killing him. Victor's father died of a broken heart ten years later. Marybeth believes Victor roams the swamp as a vengeful spirit, killing anyone who enters.Victor mostly kills people near his house, which they are standing in front of. Shannon becomes infuriated with how scared everyone is and decides to help her husband into the house. Victor emerges and kills the Permatteos. Marybeth shoots Victor, but only makes him fall. While running away, Shapiro is separated from the others and killed by Victor. The others find Shapiro's body. Marybeth suggests they return to the Crowley house to get weapons, and all six of them go to the house. Jenna, Shawn, Marcus, and Misty stand guard while Marybeth and Ben go into the shed to get weapons, but find Sampson and Ainsley's bodies instead. Ben comforts Marybeth, and they grab a shovel and a pitchfork, while the others are scared by noises in the bushes. Jenna is killed by Victor as Marybeth and Ben arrive with the weapons. Marybeth hits Victor with the shovel, making him fall and get stabbed with the pitchfork by Ben. Shawn reaches for the shovel, but Victor grabs it first, chopping off Shawn's leg with it, and then decapitating him while the others flee.The survivors decide to lure Victor back to his house and set him on fire with the gasoline tanks in the shed. They return to the house and Ben goes into the shed to retrieve a gasoline tank, while Misty stands guard and Marybeth and Marcus act as bait to lure Victor in. Marybeth and Marcus discover that Misty is missing, and her head and torso are thrown onto Ben by Victor. Ben finds a tank and throws it on Victor while Marybeth and Marcus set him on fire, but it begins to rain and the fire is extinguished. The three begin running through a cemetery and find the gate locked; Ben is tackled by Victor who spits up blood in his face before he is dragged to safety. They start running away, but Marcus is grabbed by Victor and killed. Victor grabs a gate pole and chases Ben and Marybeth, throwing it into Ben's foot. Marybeth bends the pole until it is pointed at Victor, who impales himself upon it. Ben and Marybeth board Sampson's boat and head out; Marybeth is snared by seaweed and pulled underwater. She sees Ben's arm sticking into the water for her to grab, but is pulled up by Victor, who is holding a dying Ben's severed forearm. The film ends with Victor holding her screaming.
    

Hatchet


            1964 - Del Howison proposes to his girlfriend Sue in Honey Island Swamp. Investigating nearby noises afterward, Del and Sue witness Victor Crowley decapitating a man named Bernard. Crowley then kills Del and dismembers Sue with a hatchet.A voiceover recounts Victor Crowley's origin. Born deformed from a voodoo curse put on his parents, Victor's father kept the boy hidden in Honey Island Swamp. When a children's Halloween prank went awry, the Crowley house caught fire. Victor's father tried axing down the door to rescue his son, but accidentally split Victor's head with a hatchet and killed him. Legend says the voodoo curse turned Victor into a ghost who now haunts the swamp in search of his father.Andrew Yong, the sole survivor of the Honey Island Massacre ten years earlier, appears on his ex-wife Sabrina's talk show to promote his ghostwritten memoir "I, Survivor." During the uncomfortable interview, insinuations suggest Andrew might have been 'The Bayou Butcher,' even though he was exonerated, as no evidence of Victor Crowley's existence was ever uncovered.Andrew's careless publicist Kathleen escorts him to a signing at Queen Bianca's Spells and Books. There, Andrew has several odd encounters with enthusiastic fans as well as angry accusers.Accompanied by her boyfriend Alex and their friend Rose, aspiring director Chloe Benjamin attends the signing. Hoping to raise financing for a feature, Chloe tells Andrew that she is shooting a mock trailer in New Orleans for a Victor Crowley-based movie called "Hatchetface." Before Chloe can ask Andrew to participate for authenticity, Kathleen rushes Andrew away.Kathleen tells Andrew that he has been offered a coveted interview on "Real Crime Stories," but producers insist that he return to Honey Island Swamp for the segment. Andrew refuses. Kathleen convinces Andrew to go by claiming he will earn one million dollars.Upon boarding the private plane with Kathleen, Andrew learns his ex-wife Sabrina will also be hosting his "Real Crime Stories" interview. In addition to two pilots, plane passengers include videographer Casey, audio technician and Casey's boyfriend Austin, makeup artist J, and production assistant Zach.Chloe, Alex, and Rose arrive at Honey Island Swamp to take a tour hosted by Dillon, an aspiring actor. With Chloe insisting on authenticity, Rose searches YouTube for videos of people attempting to recite the Victor Crowley voodoo curse exactly.One of the plane's engines suddenly explodes. As passengers panic, J gets torn in half when he is launched through a door. Zach is violently ejected through a window.Zach's mangled body lands in front of Chloe, Alex, Rose, and Dillon. Dillon and Rose rush toward the sound of the crashing plane while Chloe and Alex stay behind. Rose drops her phone while it is still playing videos featuring the voodoo curse.Dillon and Rose help Andrew, Kathleen, Sabrina, and Austin out of the wrecked plane. However, Casey remains pinned underneath seats. Facing the threat of drowning from rising swamp waters, Casey reveals to Austin that she is pregnant.Rose's phone plays a video of Reverend Zombie reciting the voodoo curse. Swamp waters begin bubbling as Victor Crowley resurrects. Andrew rushes everyone back inside the airplane cabin when he hears Victor Crowley's cries echoing.Chloe and Alex stumble upon the site of Crowley's former home when they go looking for the plane. Crowley suddenly tackles Alex and smashes his head with a hammer. Chloe flees while Crowley retrieves his hatchet.Crowley chases Chloe to the airplane where he seemingly murders her outside for everyone to see. Crowley then disappears into the fog.After several arguments as well as discussions about what to do, the survivors realize Chloe is still alive. Dillon earns a romantic moment with Rose for volunteering to retrieve Chloe.A water snake swimming in the flooded cabin compels Kathleen to flee outside. Crowley scalps Austin through the door Kathleen leaves open. Austin drops dead. Crowley then severs Kathleen's arm and shoves it up her pelvis until Kathleen's hand comes out of her mouth. Crowley also crushes Chloe's head with his foot. Still pinned to the cabin floor, Casey finally drowns.Sabrina reveals that Andrew was only going to be paid $25,000 for his interview. Sabrina continues berating her ex-husband, prompting Rose to insult Sabrina in return.Andrew wonders aloud why Victor Crowley has returned after ten years. Dillon theorizes Crowley's resurrection is related to the ten-year anniversary of the previous massacre. Rose explains that she was playing audio of the voodoo curse through her phone.Rose recovers Kathleen's phone. Crowley smashes out the plane's windows and begins sawing his way inside. Dillon proposes trying to start the second engine and pushing Crowley into it.While Dillon starts the engine from the cockpit, the other three survivors swim outside from underneath the plane. Crowley finally breaks into the cabin to find everyone gone.Rose insists on going back for Dillon. Instead, Andrew instructs Rose and Sabrina to run while he gets Crowley to chase him. Sabrina steals Kathleen's phone from Rose and flees into the swamp alone. Rose hides from Crowley in a tree. Andrew returns to Dillon at the plane and retrieves a flare gun.Sabrina hides in Dillon's tour boat. When Kathleen's ringtone gives her location away, Crowley kills Sabrina.Rose runs back to the plane with Crowley in pursuit. Andrew fends off Crowley by firing a flare into his face. Rose misses Crowley with a thrown hatchet. Andrew misses Crowley with a second flare. Andrew tries tackling Crowley, but is unable to force him all the way into the engine.Dillon tells Rose, "I would have had your babies" before tackling Crowley into the engine himself. The engine tears up both men.Later, Channel 6 newscaster Camille Parker reports on the crash of Flight KWAJ #331 in Honey Island Swamp, identifying Andrew and Rose as the only survivors. An eyewitness reports discovering additional bodies in the swamp. Watching the broadcast at home, Maryann Dunstan pumps her shotgun in preparation for finally taking revenge against Victor Crowley.
    

Victor Crowley


            Picking up immediately where the first film ended, Marybeth (now played by Danielle Harris) is attacked by Victor Crowley (Kane Hodder), but manages to escape. Jack Cracker finds her, pulls her out of the river, and takes her back to his cabin. After finding out her last name, he forces her to leave, telling her that if she wants help, she needs to see Reverend Zombie (Tony Todd). Moments after she leaves, Jack views Shapiro's camcorder, which he found in the swamp. The footage shows Shapiro filming different topless women, including Misty and Jenna. After Jack finishes watching the video, he is killed by Victor Crowley, who gouges his intestines out and strangles him with them until he decapitates him.Marybeth returns to Reverend Zombie's shop in New Orleans and, after demanding to speak with him, he reluctantly lets her in. It's revealed that Rev. Zombie had a small business going on with Shawn, the tour guide who was murdered the night before, and the boat was one of his own. After learning her last name, he tells her that her father was one of the boys responsible for causing the fire that originally killed Victor Crowley. He also tells her that Thomas, Victor's father, had an affair with his wife's nurse after she was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Moments before dying, Shyann Crowley placed a curse on the child conceived by Lena from the affair. Months later, she dies after giving birth to the deformed Victor Crowley. After Victor is killed in the fire, Thomas confronts the three boys responsible but they, along with their parents, deny it. Thomas becomes a shut-in and eventually dies of a broken heart ten years later. This story is then complemented by various scenes in which the undead Victor slaughters the people who wander into his land.Marybeth tells Reverend Zombie she wants to go back and retrieve the remains of her father and brother. He agrees, but tells her she must bring a family member with her. After she leaves, Zombie calls Justin (Parry Shen), Shawn's brother, and tells him Shawn never came back with the boat. He lies and says they are going into the swamp to find Shawn and the boat. He tells Justin to summon a group of hunters and, in particular, a man named Trent Graves (R. A. Mihailoff) to go with them. Marybeth returns home, where her uncle Bob (Tom Holland) promptly shows up. He tells her she needs to stay away from Reverend Zombie, but reluctantly goes with her to a recruitment meeting in Zombie's shop. Zombie tells the hunters that he will pay them $500 each to retrieve his boat and $5,000 for the head of Victor Crowley. He tells Trent that he will pay him double to go, and Trent agrees. The hunters leave and go into the swamp, with Marybeth and her uncle among them.They find the boat and, as the rest leave, two of the hunters, Cleutus and Chad (Ed Ackerman and David Foy) stay by the boat. The others split up to find Victor. Marybeth, Zombie, Justin, Bob, and Trent go looking for Crowley's shed and the bodies. Along the way, Zombie tells Justin that Trent, Bob and Marybeth's father were the kids who started the fire that killed Victor. He says that once Crowley kills Bob and Trent, his soul will be at peace and leave the swamp. After not finding the bodies in the shed, they check the main cabin. Meanwhile, the rest of the hunting party are killed off by Crowley. Chad is hacked in the face violently and Cletus has his face mutilated by a boat propeller. While Layton and Avery are having make-up sex, Victor appears and decapitates Layton. Avery tries to run away but Victor whacks her in between the legs and in the chest with his hatchet. Finally, John and Vernon (Rick McCallum and Colton Dunn) are both split in half from the groin up with a long chainsaw. While searching the cabin, the remaining party members hear Victor outside.As they hide, Justin tells Marybeth of Zombie's plot to get her uncle and Trent killed. She runs to warn Bob, but Justin jams the door shut with a chair. Victor turns up behind Justin and kills him by ripping his head open with a belt sander. Bob, in an attempt to save Justin accidentally releases Victor. Marybeth attempts to attack him but is tossed against the wall. Victor then spears Trent against the wall and the two stumble into the kitchen, where an epic battle ensues. Victor makes use of his strength while Trent uses the nearby surroundings to his advantage, temporally pinning Crowley against a support and whacking him with tables and chairs, but Trent is finally killed when he attempts to kill Victor with a clever as Victor breaks his leg and severs the top half of his head by kicking it against a table. Zombie grabs Marybeth, drags her out of the house, and traps Bob inside with Victor. Marybeth screams as she hears Bob murdered by Victor inside. She falls to the ground crying and Zombie declares Victor Crowley dead.Marybeth says she will go to the police. Zombie tells her she will not as he points a gun at her head. She tells him that Bob was not her real uncle; her father's brother had died of leukemia when she was twelve. Victor then breaks through the wall of the cabin and goes after Zombie. Zombie chokes Victor with his hands and seems to be inflicting pain but Victor kills him by severing him in half and then pulling his torso off his skin by pulling on his spine. Marybeth attacks Victor with his own hatchet, knocking him to the ground and striking him in the head repeatedly until left a bloody pulp. She then stops and walks off just as Victor's hand twitches, then returns and stands over him with a shotgun. She yells "Fuck you!" and she fires the gun into the remains of his head, finally shooting them off and seemingly ending his reign of terror.
