Ryan Stephen Barr is an English actor who has worked in a mixture of theatre, television, music and radio. He is best known for his supporting roles in major British soap operas and TV sitcoms.At the tender age of 9, Ryan was introduced to actor and director Sam Chisnell. Sam saw potential in Ryan, and helped him to make his theatre debut in The Wizard of Oz in 2006.Following on from this successful debut, Sam and Ryan formed an excellent working relationship, and the pair went on to collaborate on iconic theatre productions, such as Aladdin, Dick Whittington and Alice in Wonderland, which gave Ryan the ability to showcase his versatility and passion for the theatrical medium.Ryan was soon introduced to the Directors of the Maghull Musical Theatre Company (M.M.T.C), who immediately signed him and began to work with him to boost his stage experience. Ryan excelled, and became one of M.M.T.C's most respected cast members.Over the next few years he pushed himself creatively, landing roles in numerous stage productions, including both Oliver Twist and Happy Families.The next logical step for Ryan was to capitalise upon his stage experience by joining the television and film industry. Ryan joined with the UK's top modeling and casting agency, E.K.A / Euro Kids, who gave him the experience and skills necessary to springboard into television.Following the completion of a two week course with the National Theatre in London whilst with E.K.A, Ryan was hired for a part in the Liverpool based feature film 'A Small Family Business', directed by Kelly Taylor.Having gained much needed exposure, Ryan was then scripted as the main character 'Roy Rushton' in the Max Cooke directed feature film 'My Lover's Broken Heart'. This marked the start of Ryan's television and film career and catapulted him on to the radar of a number of successful TV producers.Since then, Ryan has gone on to play roles in the well-known television soap operas Hollyoaks, Coronation Street, and Emmerdale, and has also appeared in the acclaimed TV sitcom Bad Education, as well as internationally acclaimed Waterloo Road.Maintaining a love for his work in theatre, upon which he built his acting career, Ryan has recently taken part in touring theatre groups performing around the UK where he has played the lead roles in The Jersey Boys, the Wizard of Oz, and The King and I. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Kim Jones
