
            SynopsisPaloma and Amaru (Pamela Peró and Romel Vargas) have an almost perfect relationship - until Søren (French actor and celebrity Willy Cartier) appears and turns everything upside down. Mystic, trickster or just a young man looking for adventure, he has a very profound influence in the young couple's life, infecting them and provoking an internal wound of existential quest. When things are about to return to normality, Zuleika (songwriter Alejandra Lanza), a woman in her late 30s, adds a new layer of complexity. With Søren and Zuleika, the couple travel to unsuspected places, where they learn that love is perhaps something different - unless they have a dose of imagination to reinvent it.Like his landmark film, Zona Sur (2010), Valdivia constructs Søren on a build up of atmospheres, rather than cause-and-effect drama. The elliptical structure poses more questions than answers.Set against the context of a contemporary Bolivia, where young people -- indifferent to the deluge of social reforms -- are redefining themselves in global terms, Søren is not only an exploration on what love may be today, but also a meditation on freedom within a relationship.Pop culture, urban and magnificent natural settings, electronic music, MDMA, Ayahuasca and San Pedro ceremonies and the quest for ecstasies are part of a narrative universe of a film that was iterated in social media at the writing and pre production stages.The film is designed to question the very existence of Søren. Is he real or is he a strategy of the couple to stay together? The ending, shot in the luminous mirror of the Uyuni Salt Flats, against the classic Jacques Brel torch Song "Ne Me Quitte Pas" (played by Yuri Buenaventura), could be the couples' reunion or a remembrance of their honeymoon.Søren Kierkegaard, the father of existentialism is only present in the magnets of the fridge, to remind us of that every person, not society, is architect of his/her destiny -- an issue that concerns most young people today.
