            We've seen a lot of weird detectives recently. No matter where they worked: New York, New Orlean or New Hampshire. Weirdness is attractive thing in TV-thing. We are glued by this thing to the screens, expecting more non-ordinary (mis)behaviour which gives us delightment. Pure one, I dare say.This TV-series has given the feeling of content with absolutely non-standard attitude. DS Stone is like a small boy albeit wise one. His social solitude and loneliness give us a glimpse on the system with a foreign object inside. The system can work properly, nonetheless. I'd recommend this one to everyone who likes clever things with a juicy "off-social" protagonist.

            Six years after he was convicted for killing Trife, Sam Peel is released from jail. After returning home and finding no one in, Sam visits Trife's grave and is confronted by a man who tries to stab him. Sam is able to overpower him, but receives a stab wound in the shoulder. The man tells him that someone is coming for him, and his family. Sam looks up all the people he knew before he went inside and first goes to see Claire who is now with a new boyfriend, Hayden (Danny Dyer). Claire is not happy to see Sam but tells him that Moony goes to Central University. Sam is confronted by Hayden for the abuse he gave Claire when they were younger. The movie then turns to Jay, after the death of Trife. Jay has gone on a downward spiral and is now dealing drugs and suffering from violent outbursts. Sam seeks out Moony who is not pleased to see him and tells him he doesn't know who is after him but he deserves all that he gets. After following a trail of information leading him from one old face to the next, Sam befriends Lexi, a local drug addict. Their friendship grows closer as she aids Sam in finding those that seek out his family. Meanwhile both Jay and a group of young youths (one of which being rapper Plan B) hunt down Sam for revenge over the tragedy occurring 6 years prior. As Sam's desperation grows, it is unclear whether he will be able to protect his family and whether he will find who he is looking for before he is found by those looking for him.

            The story focuses mainly upon 4 friends, Jo (Emma Roberts), Shannon (Ophelia Lovibond), Kerrys (Shanika-Warren Markland) and Cassandra (Tamsin Egerton). They all meet one other at a Diner, where they also see Dillon (Adam Deacon) and Smoothy (Bashy) getting chased by the police while drug-dealing. As Dillon is running past, he drops a stolen diamond (out of 15) in Cassandra's bag. He is unaware that Shannon has a big crush on Dillon as he always ignores her. The four then walk out and go home.Firstly, the story focuses upon Shannon: as she walks into her home, she sees that her mother has left for good and her dad is sitting in the living room all alone. She loses her temper, gets a packet of "Pringles", two cans of spray-paint and runs away. She then runs over to Joanne's home, who has to rush to work, telling her she does not have time to talk. Later on, she is called over to Jo's work place by Jo; where she is told to leave. When she refuses, Dillon kisses Jo upsetting Shannon, so she grabs a Pringles box from the shop and runs. She is taken in by a woman who saved her from getting raped, but Shannon seems to find that the woman is looking for the Pringles box. This is later confirmed when she finds out that she is searching for "15 diamonds". One is already in Cassandra's bag, whilst the rest are in the Pringles can which had fallen out of Shannon's bag earlier. She escapes by knocking the woman out with the bathroom door. She finds the diamonds by going back to the bench where she was almost attacked. Her story ends with her holding the diamonds above a bridge, suggesting she is about to jump and commit suicide.Secondly, the story moves onto Cassandra, who visits New York to meet up with a man called "Brett" she has met on the internet. The meeting ends with her having sex with him. She suddenly feels light headed and falls asleep, and in the morning uses an epipen to pull herself together. She discovers all her possessions gone except for her handbag containing a diamond. She also finds the letter that Shannon has been looking for, which was written by her mother. She later goes to "Brett's" house to later find that "Brett" is a stalker who hacks into Cassandra's computer taking videos of her. When the fake Brett comes, she knocks him out but later escapes chasing her down the street where she is rescued by a black woman who does not take kindly to racist stereotypical views. She gets her cousins to beat and tattoo the fake Brett with the words chosen by Cassandra. She forces her way into an audition for a new tutor and gets it before then leaving for London.Thirdly the story of Kerrys is explored. Kerrys and her girlfriend break into Cassandra's beachhouse and stay there. Her brother upon discovering them inside, locks them in the panic room and throws a party. While, Dillon and Smoothy visit his house, they ask him to keep the diamonds (now only 14 left) at his house. When the two girls escape from the panic room, they lock her brother in there and run away.Fourthly, Jo, who works at a 24-hour supermarket with Angelo (Jacob Anderson) finds that her new manager ("Tee" Noel Clarke) is in town. Tee has been working with Dillon and Smoothy to deliver the diamonds, but one is missing. Tee asks Dillon and Smoothy to come over to the supermarket; Dillon and Smoothy open the safe with the key (which Tee had given to them earlier), they remove the money and drop off the diamonds (which are 14, but Tee thinks there is 15). Dillon and Smoothy come to get the money, when they find Tee has betrayed them, and they rob the store and leave Tee with the 14 diamonds. Tee, however has hidden them in a Pringles box, which is then seen in flashback to show that the box is the very same one that Shannon has. Whilst Tee is about to be shot by the same woman who rescued Shannon earlier, Jo rescues him, but when he tries to run, Angelo attacks him. He is arrested by the police for illegal selling.Cassandra returns with the last diamond and the letter; the three (Cassandra, Jo, and Kerrys) then go to meet Shannon. They put the 14 diamonds together and give it into the police and fly to New York. Whilst on the plane it is revealed that the same mysterious woman who had rescued Shannon is on the plane.

The Anomaly


            A soldier is being tortured by English speaking who demand details of his unit and mission.Mickey (Tom Hughes) and JJ (George Russo) meet and ride a train to Llandovery, Wales. The landscape is bleak and snowy. An attractive woman gives them directions, they get off at a small town and walk half a mile to the camp gates. JJ says his dad was in the SAS. They find out the directions were bad and have to call a cab, they are miles from their destination. The two go to a nearby pub. The woman is there and Mickey introduces himself. Things get tense and quiet, Mickey decides to leave with JJ.The next day (and everyday) at 4:30 they awaken and start training, there are five groups of 40 candidates, the subtitles show they only have two chances to make it. The folks from the pub are the SAS directing staff. Staff Sgt Carter (Noel Clarke) tells them it will be tough and starts them off running a road up into the hills. Mickey reveals he is currently an army cook, the others laugh at him.Then they start running/walking with heavy packs, Sgt Carter tells they are building strength and stamina. The numbers whittle down.They learn hand to hand combat. Carter shows how easy it is to evade a larger man and the woman from the train and pub, Capt. Dawn Canterbury, (Alex Reid), easily puts down a large candidate Chris (Josh Meyers). She says their technique is the best close combat fighting method in the world.They shoot guns, climb trees and practice fighting. Mickey uses a boxing stance and KOs a large fellow trainee, Canterbury notices and smiles.Capt Canterbury sees him leaving the shower and is friendly.An important test is a 40 mile hike with 55 lb packs and rifles in 18 hours, with 2 rendez-vous points. Mickey, JJ and Chris set off. They make the first RV in time, the DI sends them to the next. Very tired they struggle to make the second. Now the third leg, the three help each other and make it with a second to spare.Mickey has flashbacks and nightmares about an airborne parachuting incident. JJ notices and tries to find out what is happening.At night slavic voices discuss explosives over a bright city skyline.Carter now says the final test, the escape and evasion will happen, they will be let out with only an old WW2 overcoat, not to go near buildings, roads or paths or else they will be ``binned``. Mickey and JJ pair up and head off. They set a fire and camp for the night, eating a rabbit. Mickey admits his nightmares are from when he was in the `Paras`. An accident killed a man he tried to save, he stopped jumping and remustered as a cook,now he wants to make ``the SASs`` as they are the best. Later they are caught, Mickey is hung up by his wrists in a warehouse.He is questioned by an attractive blonde (Miranda Raison) who asks him to sign a sheet. He refuses and she insults him and his mother. He is stripped and ridiculed by the woman. Mickey is strung up again. Tired, blindfolded, his captors make loud noises to keep him awake. A long drawn out period with further questioning as the captors try to break his will, Mickey continues to refuse to answer questions, even though faced with dire threats and verbal abuse.Finally he is taken outside, Carter is waiting with a rifle, and...tells him he has passed.More training, a Chinook helicopter carries a squad. They have to jump and land within 10 metres of a target. Mickey freezes at the door until Carter pushed him out. JJ lands and takes off his pack, Mickey lands shortly after, happy. Capt Canterbury gives him a smile and encouraging words on their return to barracks.Less than 10% pass the selection. The men wait nervously, Chris is interviewed first and departs, washed out. Mickey is called in and a Major Pritchard gives him a lecture, then gives him a tan beret. Mickey accepts and the Major says well done.Mickey and JJ gaze at a clock tower, a symbol for the regiment with the names of those killed in action. Then they go to the same pub where the cheerful DS buy them drinks and welcome them to the club.Sgt Carter tells Mickey he was one of the best recruits to come through, and says he has been selected to his squad. Mickey still has a 12 month probation period.Later, Capt Canterbury comes to his room in a blouse and jeans and her hair down, she takes off her shoes and they kiss, start to undress and move to the bed. Her phone rings, she replies in a slavic language, dresses and leaves with a kiss. Then Mickey`s phone rings and Carter is summoning him for 2100 hrs.They are briefed by MI5 about a group of Bosnians and explosives, radioactive material. The SAS Major lays out the plan, the squad is dressed in black uniforms and move out. They enter an industrial complex. Taking out guards they enter and start a firefight with the Bosnians. Canterbury is there in jeans and being beaten up, she gets the upper hand and shoots her assailant, then joins Carter. The squad looks for WMD. One SAS is shot as they push the enemy across the warehouse. JJ sees a enemy attacking their rear, he tackles the man but is killed by a suicide bomb.Carter takes Mickey with only 9mm automatics to enter an office area, both are attacked by large men. The leader, Petrovic has a bomb and runs away followed by Mickey. Carter struggles with his man but eventually subdues the bear-like Bosnian. In the yard Mickey fights hand to hand with Petrovic, knocks him out and secures the bomb.Freeze frame!

            Storage 24 is a sci-fi horror film directed by Johannes Roberts and written by Noel Clarke and Davie Fairbanks. The story is introduced following a disaster that occurs on board a military plane. The aircraft spirals into Greater London and releases highly classified contents all over the city. The city is in panic and goes into total lockdown. However, four people are trapped inside a warehouse and are unaware of what is happening outside.Charlie (Noel Clarke) and Shelley (Antonia Campbell-Hughes), accompanied by best friends Mark (Colin ODonoghue) and Nikki (Laura Haddock), are dividing their belongings after breaking up. Charlie has just been dumped by Shelley. Friendships are divided and feelings run hot and cold. Of course, its irrelevant in the face of danger.The group is alarmed when the power goes out and they become trapped in numerous warehouse corridors. Worse yet, they are being stalked by something not human and not too friendly. The warehouse was designed as a storage facility and is designed to keep people out and things inside. The odds are stacked against the protagonists, as they struggle to survive amid very claustrophobic conditions.Along the way, David (played by Ned Dennehy) provides comic relief as a hermit bloke archetype and also sacrifices himself for the other characters. He also gets to whisper at the creature, "You're vicious, arent you. Just like my wife, my Mary!". The biggest revelation is that the creature is a vicious alien who is blood-thirsty and quite angry. It looks similar to the Predator monster, and is mostly seen in extreme close up shots. There's also an indication that it may be male, since it seems to have a strange reaction to Shelley and her long eyelashes. However, it is later revealed that the alien is most likely female, therefore making the metaphor of an ex-girlfriend ripping one's heart out into a literal act of brutality. The plot thickens when Charlie learns Mark has been having an affair with his girl all along.Relationships are one of the film's key points, as there is a speech late in the film regarding what being a man really means. The film ends with a huge amount of fireworks as the alien takes on a small toy dog who has explosives attached to it. This mirrors the beginning of the film that features a nameless dog walker (Amy Pemberton) stumbling upon the dangerous warehouse.Storage 24 was wide released January 11, 2013.
