Hannah Mellor girlfriend of Jake struggles to cope with the harm and hurt he afflicts on herself and daughter Carrie, and after one volatile night, Jake storms out of the family home and by chance meets the unpredictable, young, gay and street wise Ethan. Hiding under the cover of darkness in a deprived area of the city with Ethan, and drug dealer side kick Carla, Jake struggles to keep the lid on the truth of his real identity.Hannah is supported by best friend Lisa who is out to find Jake, while Ethan struggles with the affectionate and needy Kyle, Arran & Julie try to keep their relationship from going off the rails, while a can of worms is waiting to be opened on the reality of Jake's real life.
