
            In the opening scene, a young woman is fleeing from someone or something. She is shown driving to the beach. At the beach, she calls her father and tells him that she's sorry for being so unkind to him. In the morning, it is shown that she was brutally murdered during the night. Her leg is twisted and a bone is seen sticking out of it.The film then switches to Jay (Maika Monroe) who is on a date with Hugh (Jake Weary) at the movies. While they are waiting in line, Hugh starts talking about how envious he is of young children and how they have innocent, carefree lives. When they are inside the theater, Hugh spots a young woman at the entrance. He points her out to Jay, but she, however, cannot see her. Suddenly, Hugh starts getting afraid and demands to Jay that they leave the theater.On their next date, Jay and Hugh are having sex in his car, when he suddenly chloroforms her. When Jay awakens, she is tied up in a wheelchair. Hugh is there and he explains to her that when they had sex, he passed on a curse to her. This curse is an entity that can only be seen by the person with the curse (which is now Jay). The entity can take the form of any person and will follow her repeatedly at a walking pace. If IT catches her, it will kill her and will go after the previous person who had the curse (which would now be Hugh) to get them to pass the curse on to someone else.It is implied that Hugh had slept with the young woman from the beginning of the film, but since IT caught her, IT is continuing to stalk Hugh until he passes the curse on to someone else, hence why he slept with Jay.At that moment, Hugh spots a naked woman walking towards them. Jay and Hugh then flee. Hugh drops Jay off at home and continues to flee. The police are searching for Hugh, but are unable to find him.While at school, Jay spots an old woman in a hospital gown walking towards her. Everyone around does not appear to notice to the old woman. Jay's friend, Paul (Keir Gilchrist), who has a crush on Jay, and her sister Kelly (Lili Sepe) agree to help.That night, Jay, Paul, Kelly and another friend, Yara (Olivia Luccardi), all agree to spend the night in the same house. During the night, Paul hears a noise and examines a smashed window in the kitchen. He looks around, but does not see anyone. Jay then sees an almost naked woman with dark eyes walking towards her.She runs to tell the others, but none of them can see anything. Suddenly, a tall man with dark eyes walks into the room. Jay then runs out of the house.Jay runs to a playground nearby, where her friends eventually catch up to her. A neighbor named Greg (Daniel Zovatto) offers to help the group by giving them a ride. Jay and her friends plan to confront Hugh, so after tracking him down by figuring out his real address, he insists on his original story, telling Jay that she needs to sleep with someone in order to successfully pass the curse on to someone else.The group then goes back to Greg's house. Jay deduces that she needs to learn how to use a gun. While the group is sitting by the water, the entity takes on the appearance of Yara and begins to attack Jay. Jay flees and then IT takes the appearance of the tall old man and then Paul. Jay manages to shoot IT, but it does not die. Jay gets into a car and drives away, but she only manages to crash into a cornfield.When Jay awakens, she is in the hospital being treated for her broken arm. Before she is released, Jay decides to pass the curse on to someone else. She sleeps with Greg in her hospital bed in hopes of successfully passing the curse on to him. Paul is heartbroken after finding out that Jay was with Greg.At home, Jay looks out the window to see Greg walking down the street to his house. When he gets to his window, he breaks it and enters. Jay then figures out that IT has taken the appearance of Greg. Jay runs over to the house and peeks inside to see IT taking on the appearance of Greg's mom. Jay then tries to warn Greg, who is on the telephone. IT jumps on top of Greg and kills him. Now, the curse has reverted back to Jay, who flees to the woods.When she awakens in the morning, Jay is near a beach and spots three young men on a boat. She undresses and goes into the water, hoping that she can sleep with one of the men and can pass on the curse to buy herself more time.Back at home, Paul wants to sleep with Jay, but she rebuffs him, since she does not want him to be killed. Jay spots IT, posing as a naked man, spying on her from the roof. Jay then comes up with a plan to kill IT.The group goes to a deserted swimming pool in hopes of luring IT into the water and then electrocuting it. Jay is the bait and gets into the pool. When she finally spots IT, it has taken on the appearance of her father. But, IT has figured out the plan and starts throwing electrical devices into the water to kill Jay. Since they cannot see IT, the others fire blindly to try to kill it. In the ensuing chaos, Paul accidentally wounds Yara, but then shoots IT in the head, supposedly killing the entity.After heading home, Paul and Jay finally have sex. Paul then drives to a run-down part of Detroit where there are prostitutes walking the street. (The implication seems to be that the Paul plans to have sex with a hooker in order to quickly pass the curse to someone else...)Sometime later, Jay and Paul are walking down the street hand-in-hand. Behind them, a person is following them.THE END.

            Still struggling over the loss of their oldest son, Caleb, to the war in Afghanistan, the Peterson family Mr. and Mrs. Peterson and their children Luke and Anna are unexpectedly visited by David Collins, a former soldier who claims to have been a friend of Caleb's, and is there to fulfill his promise to Caleb to help take care of the family. David is polite, warm and friendly toward the family, and Mrs. Peterson offers to let him stay as long as he needs to.While staying with the family, David hears of Mr. Peterson's troubles at work, and witnesses Luke return home with a black eye. With Luke's help, he follows the students that attacked Luke to a bar, then humiliates them in a fight, using his knowledge of the law to convince the bartender not to tell anyone. David then goes to a party with a reluctant Anna, at which he saves her friend Kristen from her ex-boyfriend and has sex with her, also inquiring about where to buy guns from Anna's friend Craig. On their way home, Anna offers to make David a mix CD.David teaches Luke some self-defense and gives him his butterfly knife. When he goes to buy the guns from Craig and his friend, he kills them both before leaving with the guns, as well as two grenades. An increasingly suspicious Anna calls the military base to ask about David; this alerts a private corporation headed by Major Carver, who considers the matter of great importance and assembles a team of special forces before departing to find David. The base tells Anna that David died a week ago in a fire. Anna is distraught upon hearing that Craig has been killed and her boyfriend Zeke has been blamed for it, and asks Luke to do some research on the numbers David has called on his "burner" phone. It is also revealed that Mr. Peterson's boss and girlfriend are both dead as well, making him the new regional manager.At school, one of the students who David attacked at the bar calls Luke a "faggot"; Luke attacks him and both land in the principal's office. David arrives with Mrs. Peterson and convinces the principal to let Luke off with a month of after-school detention getting prepared for the homecoming dance. Luke tells David in confidence that Anna is suspicious and that he knows David must have killed everyone who has turned up dead in the last few days, but claims he doesn't care "'cause we're friends", and reveals that Anna may also have told Kristen about him. While David helps Mrs. Peterson with the laundry, Major Carver's team attack the house and attempt to kill David, who deftly kills everyone except Carver, and kills Mrs. Peterson after apologizing to her. While driving away, he crashes into Mr. Peterson's car, then kills him as well after apologizing again.Major Carver picks up Anna and informs her that her parents are dead and that David is really a former test subject for a military health program; his mental condition has been "programmed" to, if he believes his identity compromised, kill everyone who could possibly know about it. David kills Kristen and blows up the restaurant she works at with the grenades, then heads for the school to take care of Luke. Carver and Anna also head for the school, set up as a haunted house for the Halloween dance. When Carver and Anna attempt to help Luke escape, David announces his presence by playing Anna's mix CD, then killing Luke's supervising teacher and Carver when the four try to exit the building. Anna shoots David with Carver's gun, but David stabs her in the leg and attempts to choke her; Luke rescues her by stabbing David with his own butterfly knife twice. As he seemingly dies, David tells Luke that he did the right thing and gives him a thumbs-up.While sitting in an ambulance outside the now-burning school, Anna and Luke overhear the conversation between the firefighters: they found only two corpses with their teeth pulled off. Anna witness a firefighter enter the building and then leave; the leaving firefighter appears to Anna to be David, who has seemingly survived.

            The film opens with to young criminal lovers Mickey (Bill Skarsgard) and Jules (Maika Monroe) robbing a gas station. Mickey can't get the register open since he caused the cashier to faint. Jules hands him a snack to buy so they can open the register and make off with the money...and the snack.The two are heading to Florida to get away from the police and their worthless lives. Jules gets excited and tries to have fun with Mickey on the road, but their car quickly runs out of gas, and the irony of having just robbed a gas station hits them. They decide to walk until they can find another solution to keep moving. They leave the car stranded until they come across a nice house. They start to break in until Mickey sees that the front door is dead-bolted shut. Jules hands him a crowbar and they break in.Mickey and Jules start to make themselves comfortable as they try to figure out their next move. They snort cocaine, which gives Mickey the idea to siphon gas from the homeowners' car and carry it with them to their car. They run to the basement to look for a hose, but they end up discovering a little girl (Blake Baumgartner) chained to the floor. Jules wants to help her, but Mickey thinks it's a bad idea. He relents and decides to help get the girl out.The two run back up to the kitchen and are found by the homeowners, a seemingly friendly couple named George (Jeffrey Donovan) and Gloria (Kyra Sedgwick). Mickey aims his gun at them, but George calmly attempts to diffuse the situation once he realizes they are trying to break the girl (whom the couple calls "Sweetiepie") out. George suggests that Mickey and Jules take what they want and get out of there so that the police aren't involved, but Mickey makes it clear they are not leaving without the girl. The couple relents and brings the crooks back down to the basement. George unchains Sweetiepie, but when Mickey tries to take her with him, she bites his wrist, and George headbutts Mickey to knock him out.Mickey wakes up tied to a bed. Gloria attempts to seduce him, though she creeps him out by playing up a mommy fetish. She also shows him pictures of her supposed son that she calls "Ethan." Meanwhile, Jules is stuck in the basement tied to the support beam. She tried talking to Sweetiepie, but she remains unresponsive. This goes on for about two days. Jules admits to the girl that her parents abandoned her when she was a child. Mickey appears to give into Gloria's seduction, but when he asks to touch her, she uncuffs him and gives him an opportunity to throw her off of him. Mickey makes a run for the door but is stopped by George with his gun. He forces Mickey to go to the basement and stay tied up with Jules.Mickey and Jules plan their escape. He remembers her tongue stud and tried to convince her to take it out so that he can use it to pick the locks. Jules is hesitant since she knows it will hurt, but with Mickey's help, they are able to pull it out. He manages to uncuff Jules, but when she tries to get his cuffs, the stud breaks inside. Thinking quickly, Jules runs for it to try and find another way to help Mickey. George comes down and sees that Jules is gone, and he threatens to cut Mickey's ear off to get him to talk. He quickly says that Jules went somewhere to meet Mickey, and if he isn't there at a certain time, the cops will come. George believes him and uncuffs him to take him outside.As they head for the front door with Mickey at gunpoint, Jules emerges with "Ethan", who is just a porcelain doll that Gloria has a deep attachment to. Jules threatens to drop Ethan unless George lets Mickey go. Gloria instead grabs George's gun and shoots at Jules, but she missed and causes her to drop Ethan, and his head shatters. Gloria tearfully tries to piece the doll back together. George keeps Mickey and Jules hostage.George and Gloria strap Mickey and Jules to chairs as they are seated for dinner, with Gloria preparing a shepherd's pie. Mickey and Jules eat the food and ask what the whole deal with Sweetiepie is. George explains that she was kidnapped by them since Gloria is barren and couldn't have have kids. However, she couldn't see Sweetiepie as her own child, so she ordered George to get rid of her. He views her being captive in the basement as a form of mercy. Mickey and Jules then start to feel dizzy, and George reveals that they were just fed an excess amount of pills to knock them out before George plans to overdose them with heroin and make it look like they are just two junkies who broke in and went on a bender before dying.The plan is interrupted when a cop comes to the door, as Mickey and Jules's car was found abandoned near the scene of the gas station robbery. George assures the cop that everything is fine, but he becomes suspicious when he sees the broken door. George reluctantly lets the cop inside. Gloria has stashed Mickey and Jules away in their gym to keep them hidden from the cops. The officer then goes down to the basement. George prepares to shoot him before he discovers Sweetiepie, but he is called back outside by the other officers.Jules manages to wake up and get cocaine for herself and Mickey to get them back on their feet. They trick George and Gloria into thinking they ran away, and they emerge after the older couple heads out to find them. While walking in the woods, Gloria says she has had enough of George insulting her out of frustrations, and she admits she would rather forget about Mickey and Jules and just carry on with their lives by going on a trip. Meanwhile, Mickey and Jules prepare to take George and Gloria's car, but they end up agreeing to free Sweetiepie. She only goes after Mickey apologizes for yelling at her after she bit him.The young couple makes it to the garage but can't find the garage door remote. George and Gloria have returned home to find that their keys are gone, and so is Sweetiepie. George heads the garage door opening, and he makes it to the front before Mickey and Jules can get away. He holds his gun at them and orders them to step out of the car. Mickey tells Jules he loves her right before he hits the gas and runs George over. Unfortunately, Mickey has been shot in the chest. He has a brief final moment with Jules before he dies. Jules cries over Mickey's body before a now horribly disfigured George pulls her out and tries to strangle her. He is stopped when Sweetiepie steps out the car and grabs his gun. He tried to sweet-talk her into giving him the gun, but she instead shoots him in the head. Gloria comes outside with luggage for a trip before she sees George's corpse. She is now fully delusional and tries to "wake" George, and Jules cannot being herself to kill Gloria. Sweetiepie finally talks and says she will go with Jules. The girls walk until they are picked up by a kind woman, and she takes them to Florida.The last scene is a home movie style video of Jules and Sweetiepie (now actually looking like a cheerful child) enjoying a day at the beach in Florida, with them also having a small knick-knacks shop named after Mickey.

            In the opening scene set in New York City, a young waitress, named Frances McCullen (Chloe Grace Moretz), is going home from work on the subway where she finds a handbag left behind by a middle-aged French woman named Greta Hideg (Isabelle Huppert). Frances travels to the address on Greta's card to return the bag, but when she arrives, nobody is home.Frances lives with her best friend and roommate Erica Penn (Maika Monroe). Frances holds onto the bag until she can return it, and Erica goes through its contents. Later, they go to a movie, but it makes Frances emotional because she used to go to the movies with her mother, who has passed away from cancer not too long ago. Her relationship with her father Chris (Colm Feore) is a bit strained as he has already moved on from his wife's death and buries himself in his work.Frances returns to Greta's home and meets her. Greta is thankful for the return of the bag, and she invites Frances inside for some coffee. Greta is a piano teacher, and she plays some music for Frances as she tells her about her family. Her husband has long since passed away, and her daughter Nicola is said to live in Paris. Sensing that Greta is lonely, Frances offers to help her find a dog for support. Greta declines but thanks Frances before she leaves, and Frances leaves Greta her phone number if she changes her mind. Sure enough, Greta calls Frances later that night to take her up on the dog, and the two go later that weekend to get an old dog named Morten.Over the next few days, Greta continues to contact Frances, and the two strike up a small friendship. Erica is suspicious of Greta and figures that Frances is only using her as a maternal substitute, but Frances is offended by that suggestion. Frances goes over to Greta's home for dinner. Frances goes to look for glasses in Greta's cabinet, only to make a startling discovery: multiple identical handbags with the exact same contents inside every one of them. One has a sticky note with the number for a woman named Samantha Bales, and another has Frances's name and number. Frances becomes uncomfortable during dinner and excuses herself to leave. She goes home and tells Erica what she found.Greta attempts to get things back to normal, even though Greta continues to try and contact her. She even visits Frances at work to talk to her, but when her boss won't get rid of Greta himself, Frances confronts her about finding the other handbags and not wanting to be part of whatever crazy game Greta has planned. Frances tells Greta she never wants to see her again.Greta continues to stalk and harass Frances. She stands outside the restaurant to stare at her for hours even after the police arrive. Because Greta has not made any threats or any indication that she will attack, they cannot do anything, and the responding officer tells Frances to just ignore her.Things get worse when Frances is at home while Erica is out. Greta sends Frances pictures of Erica at her exact location, meaning Greta is stalking Erica. Frances stays on the phone with Erica until she gets somewhere safe while Frances tries to find her. Greta continues to send Frances pictures to show she is getting closer and closer to Erica, even following her onto the bus. Erica spots Greta and tells her she's sick. She runs out of the bus and manages to find the cab that Frances is in, and she joins her. The two head to file a restraining order against Greta.Frances attempts to find a way to get Morten away from Greta for fear of his safety. She goes by Greta's home and digs through the trash for anything she can find on her. Inside is an envelope addressed to Nicola, but not in Paris, and it was returned to the sender. Frances then makes attempts to get in touch with Nicola. After a couple of days, Frances is contacted by an officer named Alexa Hammond (Zawe Ashton), who tells Frances that Nicola committed suicide four years earlier and had never been to France. Alexa also reaffirms that Greta is a very ill woman after Frances tells her what she heard, and adds that Greta is not French, but Hungarian.One night at the restaurant, Frances must tend to Greta, who made a reservation. Greta insists she only wants to talk, but she instead torments Frances by causing a scene. She smashes a drinking glass and then brings up Frances's mother, claiming she had to die for them to meet. Greta flips over her table and starts advancing toward Frances, who runs to the kitchen. Greta is then restrained by staff and patrons as the police arrive to take her away. However, Frances learns that Greta has been released the next day.Frances makes plans to stay with her father for safety. She decides to finally talk to Greta and tell her she is going away for a while. Greta gives her a long, unsettling hug. Later, Frances is having a drink at home when she starts to feel dizzy. Greta emerges, having drugged the drink, and she chastises Frances for supposedly lying about going away. Greta drags Frances to her home and locks her in a toy chest. Frances then wakes up, apparently having dreamed that, and finds Erica in her apartment with her. She goes to the elevator to leave, but the elevator appears to be going lower than the bottom floor, and the walls start closing in on Frances. It turns out THAT was a dream, and Frances really is locked in a toy chest. She screams to be let out, and Greta goes to do so, making it seem as a punishment for lying.Greta takes Frances's phone and makes Erica believe that Frances is on vacation with her father, while also making Chris think she is on vacation with Erica. Frances is kept for an unspecified amount of time (implied to be weeks) kept hostage by Greta. One afternoon, Greta is forcing Frances to help make cookies, but as she fiddles with a cookie cutter, Frances slams a rolling pin down, severing Greta's pinky finger, before Frances whacks Greta over the head with the pin. She runs to find an escape, but the doors and windows are locked. She runs to the basement and finds the body of Samantha Bales, who appears to gasp and convulse briefly before finally dying. Greta then suffocates Frances until she passes out. Greta then ties Frances to a bed and keeps her trapped in the wall space behind the piano.Meanwhile, Chris goes to the ladies' apartment and sees Erica. They both mention the supposed vacations, which quickly leads both of them to realize something is wrong. Chris speaks to Detective Brian Cody (Stephen Rea) to help find Frances. Cody pulls up files on Greta, revealing that she was a nurse who mistreated and possibly killed patients, and it was believed she returned to Hungary.Cody finds Greta's home and sits down for a chat. Frances hears Cody mention her name, and she tries to get his attention by banging on the bed and making the pendulum on the piano start ticking. Cody goes over to the piano, but before he can reach Frances, Greta comes running in barefoot and injects Cody with some kind of sedative. He attempts to shoot Greta, nearly hitting Frances, but he falls and passes out. Greta then takes his gun and kills him with the remaining bullets, and she dumps his body in a bag with a chemical quicklime and throws him in the basement.Greta then goes back to the subway to find her next victim. A young woman with curly brown hair (only viewed from the back) arrives at her home. They chat, and Greta steps away for a moment and returns to have her coffee. She then starts to feel disoriented. The woman reveals herself to be Erica, having been scouring the subways for a handbag until she found Greta. She pulls off her wig and tells Greta that she drugged her just like she did Frances. As Greta faints, Frances tries to get Erica's attention by hanging on the piano and setting off the pendulum. Erica pulls the piano back and frees Frances. The two embrace, but as Erica tries to get Frances out, they hear music playing, which means Greta is lurking. Erica steps out to find her, but as Frances steps out, she feels Greta grab her by the throat and say that she was her favorite one. Greta then passes out, and Erica prepares to bludgeon her, but Frances stops her and says she has a better idea.The two place Greta in the toy chest and keep it locked with an Eiffel Tower trinket. As the ladies leave, Greta slowly starts bumping the lid of the chest, and the trinket slowly starts moving out... implying that it won't hold Greta for long before the police can show up.

            The story opens in outer space on the alien mothership. A creature is observing Thomas Whitmore's (Bill Pullman) rousing speech during the battle that took place 20 years earlier (from the first Independence Day film). The creature growls, but it's just a nightmare that Whitmore wakes up from in a jolt.Whitmore's daughter, Patricia (Maika Monroe), works for current president Elizabeth Lanford (Sela Ward). Patty was a pilot for the military, but she resigned to take care of her father, as he is more frail and disturbed after the invasion. She's friends with Dylan Dubrow-Hiller (Jessie T. Usher), son of Steven Hiller, who died in the years since the battle. Dylan is captain of the military pilots. After the battle, the so-called Earth Space Defense was established, with Area 51 becoming its headquarters.Patty's fiance, Jake Morrison (Liam Hemsworth), is on a base on the moon working on a machine with his best friend Charlie (Travis Toth). The machine loosens and nearly collapses onto the base, but Jake uses his pod to lift it and secure it in place. He later gets chewed out by his superior General Jiang Lao (Chin Han).General Joshua Adams (William Fichtner) is brought to the prison of some captive aliens that were kept alive since the first battle. It's mentioned that for the past 20 years they have been catatonic, but suddenly, a couple of hours ago, they all became animated and agitated.In Africa, David Levinson (Jeff Goldblum) arrives with Floyd Rosenberg (Nicolas Wright) at a base to meet warlord Dikimbe Umbutu (Deobia Oparei). David runs into an old flame, Dr. Catherine Marceaux (Charlotte Gainsbourg). They are at the site of a crashed alien ship, one that has a new shape and configuration they've never seen. Levinson and Marceaux determine that the ship was drilling into the Earth at that point, however they're unable to determine exactly why. Umbutu tells them how he and his men fought the aliens and seized their weapons. Umbutu claims to have seen visions involving the aliens. The ship they've found has also sent a distress call to its home planet.The pilots on the moon get a visit from Jiang's niece Rain (Angelababy), whom Charlie becomes smitten with. Dylan also shows up, causing friction since Jake almost accidentally killed him during training. Dylan returns the favor by punching Jake in the face. They are both harshly admonished by Jiang.The moon base notices a spherical craft approaching them. It is also seen on Earth by those in Africa and those on Lanford's staff. Considering it a threat, Lanford orders the craft to be shot down. The moon team fires its laser cannon at it, sending it hurtling backwards. All teams celebrate, thinking they have scored another victory against aliens.In Africa, Jake arrives in his shuttle to pick up David, Catherine, Umbutu, and Floyd to the crash site of the craft on the moon, where they find a large container and recover it.We cut to David's elderly father Julius (Judd Hirsch) at a retirement home where he advertises a book in which he claims he was responsible for saving the planet.In a hospital, Dr. Brakish Okun (Brent Spiner) has finally awoken from his coma after 20 years. He immediately gets out of bed and scribbles alien symbols on the walls of his room.On Earth in Washington DC, a celebration is held for shooting down the craft and for the 20th anniversary of the victory over the invaders. Several veterans from the first alien invasion attend, including an elderly and frail General Gray (Robert Loggia). Lanford credits the moon team for their effort. Thomas walks up to speak unexpectedly, but as he is introduced, he tries to warn everyone that "they're coming back". At the same time, he, Umbutu, and Brakish all experience the same sensation, just as high above Earth, an enormous ship, many times larger than the first mothership, approaches Earth. It first strikes the moon base, killing Jiang and several others, which Rain witnesses. The ship moves over the North Atlantic Ocean and levitates part of China and Dubai, causing destruction wherever it hovers. London, Shanghai and Dubai are all destroyed when skyscrapers, cars and people are levitated in the air and crash back to the ground. In the chaos, Dylan sees his mother Jasmine (Vivica A. Fox) working in a hospital as she leads a woman and her newborn baby to the roof of the hospital. The woman and her baby are rescued, but Jasmine perishes when the building collapses under her, which Dylan sadly watches. Meanwhile, Julius is riding his boat as the attack hits and a large wave strikes his boat, but he survives.Jake later finds Dylan and offers his condolences. He says he knows his pain since his parents were killed in the first alien attack when he was a child, deeply regretting the last thing he told them was that he hated them.Thomas goes to the holding cell of a captive alien. He enters to communicate with it, but it grabs him with its tentacle in front of Patty and other soldiers. The alien uses Thomas to say "she" is coming. Patty shows a picture of a sphere, which the alien reacts to with anger. The soldiers shoot at the alien, breaking its cell open in the process. Umbutu kills the alien as it crawls out of its exoskeleton bio-mechanical suit.The military picks up an infrared reading from the new mothership, where they spot the Alien Queen in a chamber at the top of the craft. They figure if they can kill the Queen, they can stop her fleet. Lanford authorizes the retaliatory strike. The newly refitted Earth air force attacks and are met with heavy resistance, both from the mothership and from a new design of alien attacker ships. The pilots fly into the ship and begin unloading on any alien that crosses their path.The new mothership uses a large beam to bore into the planet's core in the Northern Atlantic. A boat full of men searching for gold near the site are contacted and they are offered money to send back information and to help in stopping the drilling. They jokingly tell the government that they want $100 million and are given the amount without hesitation. They immediately start their monitoring.The alien warriors also attack Lanford's command bunker in the mountains of Colorado, killing her and most of her Cabinet. At Area 51, Adams is quickly sworn in as her successor.On Earth, Julius is found by four kids driving away from Florida after being separated from their parents. Julius comforts the oldest girl Sam (Joey King), as she has to take care of her siblings and she has no idea what happened to their parents. Julius takes over the car until they come across a school bus full of kids whose driver abandoned them. Julius brings the four kids onto the bus and drives with all the other kids.Meanwhile, Brakish breaks the container open and uncovers a large white sphere not unlike the one that was shot down. Unsure of how to open it, Floyd activates it by touching it, and the sphere comes to life. It speaks English and explains how the race that it belongs to was extinguished by the alien harvesters. Their planet's core was absorbed by the aliens to refuel their ships, something they have done to countless other planets. The sphere also states how it attempted to evacuate Earth, but it couldn't since the moon team shot down the ship needed for the evacuation.As the pilots head toward the Queen, they start to realize it's a trap, and that she knows they're coming. The aliens disable the pilots' jets and weapons systems with an EMP (electro-magnetic pulse)-like blast. Jake, Dylan, Charlie, and Rain all manage to escape before they are killed. The queen's chamber aboard the large ship separates and flies off, looking for the alien sphere.A plan is formed to lure the Queen out to an isolated area where they can kill it with a nuclear weapon. Patty volunteers to head the attack, but Thomas makes it out before she can, knowing it's going to kill him. The pilots all get ready to fight as David prepares himself at the site of the attack. Thomas flies into the ship as the Queen's shields go down. Once she is in the trap, Thomas detonates the bombs, destroying the ship at the cost of his life.Everyone celebrates prematurely as they think the Queen is dead. She's actually very much alive. The enraged Queen (which stands around 100 ft. high) rampages through the deserted area, attacking the pilots trying to strike her down. The drill is also closer to the core by the minute. As this happens, Julius drives the bus toward David's location. The Queen moves to attack the bus. Patty flies her jet above the Queen and fires at her shields. She manages to bring them down as the Queen's fleet starts swarming around her for protection. Jake, Dylan, Charlie, and Rain fly around in the swarm, trying to gain enough speed to break away for a new assault. They break free and shoot at the Queen from behind. She is mortally wounded and bursts out of her exoskeleton and flails around until she collapses and finally dies. The other aliens are brought down, and the drilling ceases. Earth is saved once again.The mothership ascends and leaves Earth. Jake and Patty are reunited, and they kiss. Charlie tries to get that going on with Rain, but she says "Dinner first", to his delight. Brakish then approaches the pilots and his son with the sphere, stating that it can offer them new technology and weapons should they take the fight against the aliens into space before they come back. Everyone agrees, and Brakish closes the film by saying that it's time to "kick alien ass".

The Scent of Rain & Lightning


            The couple, Jenai and Riley are napping on a bus that is traveling in beautiful open land. They stir and wake up. Riley takes out his camera and starts taking pictures. They arrive at their hotel, put their things away and look out the window. Next they are out site seeing and various other activities while Riley continues to take pictures.
They stop to eat and discuss if they can find film for the camera. Riley talks about his love for taking photos. Once again they go sight seeing. They end up at a church and speak to the Pastor who talks to them for a bit about the history of Iceland. Next they go out with a tour group to the mountainside. All the while Riley is still taking pictures. They walk up to a waterfall and stand under it seemly happy and in love.
Next it is the middle of the night and they are asleep in their hotel room. Jenai gets up and noticed there is a light coming from outside. She gets up and looks out the window. There is a strange light in the sky that flashes into a blinding light that encompasses everything. Jenai looks puzzled.
That morning Riley is up and ready to go. He starts to wake up a sleepy Jenai who doesn't want to get up. They go down and find there is no continental breakfast. They decide to head out. Walking down the street they start to notice that it seems empty. They puzzle over what could be going on. As they continue they start to yell out to anyone that could hear them. Feeling panicked they start looking in the buildings but cannot find anyone. They call their families and no one answers. They end up in a restaurant after walking the whole city looking for other people. The restaurant has TV'son and they begin to flip through the channels. The only programs not working are the news shows. They head back to their hotel room. Janei keeps calling and texting her family. Riley is checking the internet trying to find out what's going on. The websites only have yesterday's news. Riley looks for webcams around the world and they are all empty of life. They leave the hotel in search for other people. They find a car in the middle of the road still in drive. They take the car and their search continues. Jenai questions if this could be the rapture. After searching most of the day they go back to their room and go to bed.
The next morning Riley is once again up and dressed while Jenai is still in bed. He tries to wake her but she refuses to get up. Later they are just in the hotel room discussing possibilities of what happened. Jenai continues to worry the apocalypse has happened and they were left behind. Riley assures her that is not the case. They both finally go to the grocery store and fill up 3 baskets of food. They get their belonging and head to a better place to stay. They end up in a 3 story home. Next they go clothes shopping. They have fun going around trying on things and picking things out. They appear to go about their days enjoying each other's company.
The couple is out in the countryside. Riley is following Jenai and taking photos of her. Jenai walks to a mountainside pool and starts to remove her clothes and gets in. Riley follows suit. They have sex.
They are at the grocery store picking out food. Riley is goofing around in a shopping cart. While skating around in the shopping cart it flips and he falls and he hits the ground.
They get dressed up and eat a romantic dinner. At dinner Janei is mad at Riley and tell him they he needs to be more careful. It cuts to a scene back at the grocery store and it shows that Riley's arm is bleeding. Riley says he's not going to stop living his life. Jenai storms out angry. Riley eventually promises Jenai not to goof around anymore. Jenai says all she wants is to go back home.
After another day of searching they are back at their house and the water no longer works. Riley eats a yogurt out of order and Jenai is angry as they are supposed to eat them in order of expiration date. She is worried about the food lasting. Riley says he will take care of it. Jenai says to just eat the food in the correct order.
Time passes as they venture to different sites. Jenai continues to try and contact her family. Riley starts to build something to pump water.
They decide they want a change of scenery so they take a weekend trip and pick a place to stay out in the mountains. Riley goes out to get wood for the fireplace and encounters a man. They are both in shock. The man asks for some water. The mans name is Nils. He asks for food. The man is in bad shape. They help him inside and give him some food. The man continues to have coughing fits. The man seems to have accepted his fate. Late that night while Riley is asleep, Janei and Nils have a conversation where he confesses that his wife left him. Jenai concludes that we are all alone. The next morning Riley informs Jenai that Nils did not make it. They bury him in the cemetery by the lake with his family. Jenai gets upset and starts to question why they are even burying the man. Riley doesn't understand why she is getting upset. Jenai says that none of it makes any sense. That there has to be someone else. She says it can't just be them and leaves without helping Rile bury Nils. Jenai prepares and heads out in search of other people. She goes around marking houses with red duck tape in an 'X'
Once back at home in the city, Jenai is cleaning up dinner when her computer dings that she has a message. She is hesitant but hope full as she goes to open it. The message is from Riley and Jenai is visibly disappointed. Next morning Riley awakes to find a package on the kitchen table
With his name on it. He goes to the kitchen and for the first time turns on the water pumping machine he has made. He goes to the sink and turn on the faucet. As he waits, he opens the package to find that his pictures are developed. As he flips through the pictures he glances up and sees Jenai's sweater outside and gets concerned. He goes outside to take a closer look at the sweater. He looks from the sweater back to the pictures and realizes something. He tosses the pictures and takes off in the vehicle looking for Jenai. While he looks we see the contraption he made is slowly but surly working to bring water to the house. Riley finally finds their other vehicle where they took the swim by the mountain. He runs to the pool and finds that Jenai has committed suicide and drowned herself. . Rileytakes her out of the water and cries over her body. Back at home the water starts to pour in the sink. Riley then jumps into the water in an attempt to kill himself but after a while comes up for air. He then attempts to carry Jenai back but falls. He leaves Jenai's body where it lie and stumbles back to his vehicle. He drives away in a daze. The movie ends.
