Equally adept at stand-up, straight theatre or television comedy Elizabeth 'Lizzie' Roper was born in November 1967 and read drama at the University of Aberystwyth, where she was a member of acting group the Wardens. On graduation she trained at the Guildford School of Drama. Much of her early career was in stand-up, notably as Sadie Beige the Kosher Chicken Giblet Queen of Whitechapel and the dramatic Spanish singer Rita Poonami and she has performed several self-penned one woman shows including 'Peccadillo Circus', both nationally and at the Edinburgh Fringe where she also won plaudits for her title role in 'Julie Burchill: Absolute Cult' another solo show where Lizzie played the controversial journalist.
