Leslie Saint-Julien is an American actress, writer and poet who was born and raised in the East Flatbush town of Brooklyn, NY to Haitian parents. Raised by both of her parents, Saint-Julien has a deeply rooted upbringing in Caribbean culture. Exposed to music, art and culture at a very young start, Saint-Julien was introduced to the performing arts at the age of 6 training in classical ballet. Adding tap and jazz to her repertoire, her training continued until the age of 16 with Francine Roland-King. Roland-King was a former June Taylor Dancer on The Jackie Gleason Show and dance critic with the London Contemporary Dance Theater. This experience opened the door to her limitless creativity. Reading Dr. Seuss books and the poetry of Shel Silverstein as a child, Saint-Julien also fell in love with writing and poetry. In college, is where she later learned the art of the Spoken Word.In 2013, Saint-Julien published her first poetry collection More Than Me. Wanting to identify with the root of her passion, she later published a children's series that she continues to write called Brooklyn Stew (2015). The children's book led to her campaign to lead children to succeed by promoting the importance of literacy as an ingredient for child development. Saint-Julien tours her book and reads to children to inspire them to have self-confidence, be articulate and to dream!Saint-Julien is known for her theater performances in the portrayals of African American women in Black history. She has debuted in the roles of Phillis Wheatley, Arnetta Beverly and Zora Neal Hurston with the Northern Arundel Cultural Preservation Society, Inc. She has also acted in off-Broadway performances to include ballet and musicals throughout New York City, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. Her first stage appearance was at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Later she would perform at Johns Hopkins University Turner Auditorium, The Chesapeake Arts Center in Maryland and The Signature Theater in New York City on Broadway. On the screen, Saint-Julien debuted in her first screenplay in the Hit House Entertainment Group premiere of the film Sunny (2018), an American crime drama written by Usman Taiwo and directed by Malachi E. Robinson. In 2020, Saint-Julien premiered as the character of Jazzy in the Hard Boy Productions' urban short film Fresh Out, written and directed by Mo Shines.Saint-Julien holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland. She has studied Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy College of Visual and Performing Arts as well as Theater Crafting, Acting Fundamentals & Playwriting at the Shakespeare Theater Company in Washington, D.C. - IMDb Mini Biography By: Author
