USAOriginally from North Dakota, Kirk moved to California in 1996 to pursue his dreams working in entertainment, and since then his career has taken him around the world to Iraq, China, Alaska, London, Cannes, Calgary, and his favorite small town in the world, Flaxton, ND. He's proud to be a Nodak, and owes a lot of his success to his friends and family back home.Kirk started as an actor, and never thought he'd become a producer, because he wasn't sure what they do. Turns out, a little of everything, which is a great fit for his talents. He has a rare ability to cross over between creative and business, and understands how important that is to be successful. More importantly, he knows you must love what you do, and he does.Kirk is a highly creative person who enjoys developing exciting new projects. He's created, produced, written and developed a number of cool indie films, docs, and series, and has found a way to create niche markets for their releases.Kirk's diverse background includes setting up and co-founding film finance company Northern Lights, sales company Conduit, and his own production company Badlands Features. He's produced improvised comedy films, directed risky documentaries, and written and produced a hodge-podge of commercials and shorts. He's held a wide range of crazy jobs like marketing a semi-pro basketball league, dealing blackjack in a dive bar, acting on a children's TV show with puppets, and starting his own 24-hour antique delivery service, "Wake up, Kirk," in Venice Beach (to finance his acting habit). He's performed in indie films, TV shows, plays, and guest speaking events, where he often re-lives how a random meeting with a casting director led to him start his own business. He loves traveling, especially to unique spots, film festivals, and any place with a story to share, and good people to meet. He lives in LA with his wife, Bryn, and daughter Clarashea, who helped him edit this bio.
