Kate has been pursuing and working in film and theatre in New York City since 2002. She's studied at SUNY Oswego, New York University's School for Continuing and Professional Studies, School for Film and Television, The Barrow Group, Black Nexxus Inc, Pearl Theatre and Bova Actors Studio. Private coaching includes working with Susan Batson, Eric and Susana Morris, Anthony Vincent Bova, LAByrinth Theater's Charles Goforth, NYU's Sam DeFazio, and current Shakespearean coaching with Pearl Theatre's Dominic Cuskern. The film entitled DEALeR was directed by Nick DeMatteo and starred McGrath, DeMatteo, David LaRosa, Janine Laino and premiered at the Kraine Theater in New York's lower east side. McGrath would later be nominated for Best Original Screenplay at the 2nd Annual Golden Door International Film Festival, and the film would be win FlipsideTV's Most Watched Movie and Audience Choice Award in their 2012 Film Festival.Her next work has been the widely successful Clandestine, directed by award-nominated screenwriter and actor David LaRosa, who also serves as Feenix Films' President. Released in 2016, Clandestine is partially inspired by McGrath's father's over 30-year experience as a law enforcement officer on Long Island. Intimately and beautifully focused on local and federal officials as well as informants, the film garnered Official Selections in several festivals, followed by nominations for performances by Nick DeMatteo, Chris Ryan and David LaRosa himself at the 49th Annual WorldFest-Houston Film Festival. Wins at WorldFest included a Best Supporting Actress award from the Houston Broadcast Film Critics Society and a Gold Remi for Crime Drama for the film itself. Clandestine is viewable on Amazon Instant Video, iTunes, Sony PlayStation, Google Play and Dish Network.McGrath served as co-writer with the lovely Janine Laino, Feenix Films' Treasurer, on The Basement, part of Requiem.
