
            Holden McNeil (Ben Affleck) and Banky Edwards (Jason Lee) are comic book artists and lifelong friends. Holden is the calmer, more reasonable of the duo; Banky, meanwhile, is the caustic and short-tempered half. The story opens at a comic book convention in New York City where the two are promoting their latest comic series 'Bluntman and Chronic'. After Holden breaks up a fight between Banky and an antagonistic fan, they attend a panel discussion where they meet Alyssa Jones (Joey Lauren Adams). She is a struggling comic book writer whom is friends with the African-American comic book writer and activist Hooper (Dwight Ewell) who puts on this militant image to hide his flamboyantly gay personality.That evening, the four go out for drinks together at a local bar where Holden is attracted to Alyssa based on their conversation during a dart game. Through Hooper she invites Holden to a get together at a bar she frequents. Banks comes along and while there Alyssa is asked to sing a song. During the song Banky notices that they are in a female gay bar and that Alyssa is singing the love song to a woman in the audience and not to Holden who thinks the song is for him. The four of them end up at a booth and Alyssa and Banky have an involved conversation about sex with women while Holden broods, visibly upset about Alyssa being a lesbian. However, they have discovered they are both from the same area of New Jersey and the two begin hanging out, and a deep friendship develops. During their discussions it is clear that Holden has a very narrow heterosexual view on male female relationships and sex in general. The new friendship does not sit well with the homophobic Banky, who dislikes and distrusts Alyssa and is bothered by the relationship that develops between her and Holden. Holden and Banky's business relationship suffers as well -- the two had been on the verge of signing a lucrative deal to turn Bluntman and Chronic into television show and Banky feels that Holden is no longer taking their combined efforts or the TV show seriously.Eventually, Holden is no longer able to contain his feelings, and confesses his love to Alyssa. She is initially angry with him and walks away. Holden follows her and they have a heated discussion about their relationship and she walks away again. Holden is confused and while returning to his vehicle Alyssa runs up, they embrace and that night the two begin a romantic relationship. Banky walks in the next morning and finds them together sleeping on his couch in the studio. This new development worsens the tension between Holden and Banky who distrusts Alyssa and that his friend is going to be hurt when the relationship fails. Banky runs across an old friend who grew up with Alyssa who tells him a sexual adventure story from Alyssa's past. Banky reports to Holden that Alyssa participated in a threesome with two guys during high school, which earned her the nickname "Finger Cuffs" for getting it from both ends. Holden is deeply disturbed by this revelation, having believed based on their conversations about love and sex that he is the first man Alyssa had ever slept with.Holden asks advice from Hooper who tells him that if he wants his relationship with Alyssa to work, he must be honest and truthful and ask Alyssa about her past. Hooper also tells Holden he believes the issue with Banky is that Banky is jealous and in love with him and that his macho sexual banter is a disguise for his true feelings.The following evening, Holden confronts Alyssa while attending a hockey game and he clumsily attempts baiting her into confessing, which she eventually does, prompting her to storm out of the arena. During a tearful argument in the parking lot, she tells Holden about her youthful sexual experimentation involving men. She apologizes for letting him believe that he was the only man she had been with but justifies it by saying she could see that he took pleasure in the thought. However, she refuses to apologize for her past and Holden leaves feeling angry and confused.Later, during lunch at a local diner with the local stoners and drug dealers Jay and Silent Bob (Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith), who were the inspiration for the Bluntman and Chronic comic book characters, Holden gives them their monthly residual pay for sales of the comic book. Here he confides in them about his troubled feelings and relationship with Alyssa. Speaking more than one line for the first time, Silent Bob mentions chasing Amy and reveals that he was once in a relationship "a couple of years ago" which was similar to Holden's. Despite the fact that he was in love with his girlfriend, Amy, his insecurities about her adventurous sexual past caused him to sabotage the relationship and leave her. Angry at himself for letting her go, he has "spent every day since then chasing Amy".Inspired by Silent Bob's story, Holden devises a plan to fix both his relationship with Alyssa and his fractured friendship with Banky. He invites them both over and tells Alyssa that he would like to get over her past and remain her boyfriend. He also tells Banky that he realizes that Banky is in love with him... kissing him passionately to prove the point. Holden suggests that the three of them should have sex with each other in a threesome so he will no longer be envious of Alyssa's broader experiences and it will resolve Banky's issues with them as a couple. Banky reluctantly agrees to participate. Alyssa is appalled and refuses, at which Banky expresses his relief. Alyssa tries to explain to Holden why his plan is so wrong. Before leaving, she states that she will always love him but her past is in the past and she will not be his whore and slaps him across his face. Banky then leaves without saying a word.One year later, the story has Banky busy promoting his own new comic book at a convention in New York. It is revealed that Holden has dissolved their partnership over Bluntman and Chronic, leaving the viewer with the assumption that he sold the publishing and creative rights over to Banky (which is corroborated in the beginning of 'Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back'). Banky looks over and sees Holden at a distance, who silently congratulates him for his success on the new book. Banky gestures over to a booth hosted by Alyssa who is promoting her own comic, and provides wordless encouragement with a hand gesture implying a coming together to Holden to go talk to her. Holden has a brief poignant conversation with Alyssa, and gives her a copy of 'Chasing Amy', his new comic based on their failed relationship. Holden asks her to contact him. After Holden leaves, Alyssa's girlfriend (Virginia Smith) comes back to the booth and asks who that was. Alyssa feigns indifference,casually tosses his comic on the floor behind her and replies, "Oh, just some guy I knew." She then turns to sign the next fan's material.

            Gary Grobowski (Vince Vaughn) and Brooke Meyers (Jennifer Aniston) meet at Wrigley Field during a Chicago Cubs baseball game and begin dating, eventually buying a condominium together. Gary works as a tour guide in a family business with his brothers, Lupus (Cole Hauser) and Dennis (Vincent D'Onofrio). Brooke manages an art gallery owned by eccentric artist Marilyn Dean (Judy Davis). They're pushed to the breaking point after their latest, "Why can't you do this one little thing for me?" argument. Brooke, feeling unappreciated, criticizes Gary's immaturity and unwillingness to work on their relationship. Gary, on the other hand, is frustrated by Brookes controlling, perfectionist attitude and expresses his desire to have more space, particularly after coming home from work. Brooke becomes upset when Gary fails to offer to help her clean up after a dinner party and, still frustrated from their earlier argument, breaks up with him. Brooke seeks relationship advice from her friend Addie (Joey Lauren Adams), while Gary goes to unload his feelings with the support of his friend Johnny Ostrofski (Jon Favreau).
Since neither is willing to move out of the condo, they compromise by living as roommates and both begin acting out to provoke the other. Gary buys a pool table, litters the condo with food and trash, and even has a strip poker party with Lupus and a few women. Meanwhile, Brooke has Gary kicked off their "couples only" bowling team and starts dating other men in an attempt to make Gary jealous. When their friend and realtor Mark Riggleman (Jason Bateman) sells the condo, Gary and Brooke are given a two week notice to move out. Brooke invites Gary to an Old 97's concert hoping he'll intuit the gesture as her last ditch attempt to salvage their relationship. Gary agrees to meet her there but fails to see the significance and misses the concert, which breaks Brooke's heart.
Afterwards, Brooke quits her job in order to spend time traveling Europe. When she brings a date home one evening, Brooke finds the condo cleaned and Gary preparing a fancy dinner in order to win her back. He lays his heart on the line and promises to appreciate her more. Brooke begins crying and states that she just can't give anymore and, therefore, does not feel the same way. Gary seems to understand and kisses her before walking out. It's later revealed that Brooke's "date" (who initially asked her out and was politely rejected) was actually a client interested in a piece of artwork she owned in her condo. When Gary goes out for a drink with Johnny, his friend points out the fact that Gary has always had his guard up, and never gave Brooke a chance because that has created such selfishness on his part.
They move out and Gary begins taking a more active role in his tour guide business while Brooke travels the world, eventually returning to Chicago. Some time later, they meet again by chance on the street as Gary is bringing home groceries and Brooke is on her way to a meeting. After some awkward but friendly catching up, they part ways but each glances back over their shoulder and they share a smile.
    

The Break-Up


            Cliff Spab (Stephen Dorff) and his friend Joe Dice (Jack Noseworthy) are two slackers who go out one evening to buy some beer in a Los Angeles convenience store. While there, a group of masked and heavily armed terrorists take Cliff, Joe, and three other people hostage. The terrorists, who call themselves S.P.L.T. Image, have a video camera, and they tape their hostages. During the month-long standoff with the police, S.P.L.T. Image's only demand is that their broadcasts be televised on worldwide television live and uncut, or else the hostages will be killed. After two of the hostages are killed, Cliff, Joe and another hostage, a young teenage girl named Wendy Pfister (Reese Witherspoon), are the only ones left. After 36 days, Cliff become indifferent to being killed, and he says repeatedly, "So fucking what?", in reply to his captors' threats to kill him. Because of the coverage, this makes Cliff a media icon.The movie skips forward, picking up in the hospital. Cliff, we learn, had shot his way to freedom, at the cost of a bullet in his shoulder, and more significantly, Joe's life. Despite Joe's death, Cliff is branded a hero for saving Wendy and killing all the terrorists. He's picked up from the hospital by his brother Scott (David Barry Gray) and taken home, where Cliff soon becomes uncomfortable. He does not appreciate either the reporters camped outside his front lawn, nor his parents, who welcome him home awkwardly. Cliff cannot stand the presence of his domineering father and weak-willed mother, and he flees their house. But on the street, he finds that his life cannot go back to what it was before the convenience store. His line, abbreviated as S.F.W., is on banners, newspapers, CDs, and on billboard advertisements. At the fast food restaurant where he works, called Burger Boy, he finds his name and image on the board with a "Special 36¢ Cliff Spab Burger" being marketed in commemoration of his 36 days in captivity.Cliff flees to the home of Joe's older sister Monica (Joey Lauren Adams), who tells Cliff that she resents that he has gotten all the media attention, whereas her brother, who got killed during the siege, has not gotten any sympathy or even attention from anyone. After spending a night of empty passion with Monica, Cliff leaves in the morning. Cliff calls upon his best friend Morrow Streeter (Jake Busey) to help him. Morrow takes Cliff to hide out in the elegant home of his sister Janet (Pamela Gidley), a lawyer who gives Cliff some advice. She advises that he should not pass up any opportunity to exploit his fame for personal gain.Alienated with life, Cliff leaves the following day by hitchhiking out of Los Angeles. He gets a ride with a disaffected couple who confide with him about their marital troubles; this inspires Cliff not to run from his problems since they will only follow him. Cliff decides to take advantage of his newfound fame, first by checking into a fancy hotel, and then holding press conferences, making public appearances, and holding autograph signings all generally portraying him as a rebel.But Cliff's real desire is to find Wendy, whom he also sees on the news. Wendy, however, is refusing to comment about the ordeal in the convenience store. Cliff eventually manages to track her down. Soon, a romantic attraction develops, but their relationship is hampered by reporters and paparazzi tailing both of them. One evening, Cliff slips out of his hotel room, meets with Wendy, and they travel to the location of the convenience store siege, where they find that the building has been closed down and boarded up as a crime scene. After reminiscing how he and Joe managed to overpower their captors, and killed all of them in a huge gunfight where Joe was killed and Cliff was wounded, Cliff then tells Wendy he only wishes that he could just give up all this fame and celebrity status so the two of them can have a quiet romantic life together.A few days later, during a public appearance at a local high school, Cliff and Wendy arrive in the school auditorium to a cheering crowd of students. All of them are chanting Cliff's line, "So fucking what!", except for one distraught looking student. Her name is Barbara Wyler, nicknamed "Babs" (Amber Benson). Babs just sits silently, looking angry. She pushes her way through the crowd and points a gun at Cliff and Wendy on the stage and yells, "Everything matters!" Babs opens fire, seriously wounding both Cliff and Wendy. Media attention now switches to Babs Wyler, who is arrested, booked, and indicted for this crime. Her line of "Everything matters" becomes the new public catchphrase, replacing Cliff's "S.F.W." line. As reporters and media people talk about Babs' actions, the wounded Cliff and Wendy, now in the hospital, are relieved that their ordeal with the media is over, and they now can slip away to re-start their romance with their new found privacy.
    

S.F.W.


            The film opens with Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) going to open the Quick Stop convenience store in the small coastal town of Leonardo, New Jersey. He is then grabbed by a whole police SWAT team, who are there to find two suspects in the sandwich shop next door, Cock Smokers. After firing a smoke bomb, Jay (Jason Mewes) emerges. He does the Buffalo Bill dance before bringing out his partner... his hetero life-mate, Silent Bob (Kevin Smith).Jay and Silent Bob go to court to meet their lawyer, Brandon St. Randy (Justin Long). He makes the two sign documents before speaking to the honorable Judge Jerry N. Executioner (Craig Robinson) and the Bailiff (Joe Manganiello). Brandon convinces Judge Jerry that Jay and Bob were just working in a temporary pop-up shop to promote a movie. After the Judge dismisses the two, Brandon immediately moves to defend a Prosecutor (Frankie Shaw) from Hollywood. It turns out that the documents that the two stoners signed where for Saban Films to legally acquire their names, since the studio is planning a reboot of "Bluntman and Chronic." Therefore, Jay and Silent Bob can no longer call themselves by those names.The duo go to a local shopping mall and to Brodie Bruce's (Jason Lee) comic shop to bemoan their predicament, as well as to ask what a reboot is. Brodie explains by means of mocking the new "Star Wars" movies. He shows Jay and Bob a poster for the new movie, which is called "Bluntman V Chronic", with Chronic now being played by a woman. To top it all off, the reboot is being directed by none other than KEVIN SMITH. The three take time to make fun of Smith and his movies, before Brodie informs them that a big scene is set to be shot at the upcoming Chronic Con, which leads to Jay and Silent Bob to embark on another quest to Hollywood to stop the reboot.First, the two stop at the airport to try and buy tickets, but they try to use fake names. It doesn't work, and when they use their real names, the clerk (Molly Shannon) informs them that they are on the no-fly list. She refers them to RideMeNow, an app that will provide them with a ride. Jay and Bob steak the credit card info of a loud-mouthed jerk named Ted Underhill (Ralph Garman), and then meet their driver, Todd Merkinson (Fred Armisen), whom Jay nicknames Merkin. They start to smoke a man-shaped joint when Merkin tells them he has never smoked weed. Silent Bob then pulls out a pack of special joints that he and Jay were saving for special occasions so that Merkin can experience his first bit of weed.We are treated to a brief appearance by the angel Loki (Matt Damon), who takes a shot at Tom Hiddleston's Loki before stating he was born again (or "Bourne-Again Identity") and then transitioning to the next point in the adventure.The guys stop at the local fast-food place Mooby's for munchies. Jay orders his food, but when Silent Bob goes up to order, he texts the listless cashier (Kate Miccuci) an eggplant emoji, making her think he is trying to proposition her. She pulls a knife on him before calling out the manager, Ms. McKenzie (Jennifer Schwalbach Smith). She takes Silent Bob into the bathroom for sex, while Jay comes outside to see his ex-girlfriend Justice (Shannon Elizabeth) on TV as a weather person. Jay recognizes his "Boo Boo Kitty Fuck" and wants to go find her. Unfortunately for him and Silent Bob, Merkin has been arrested for smoking pot.Jay and Silent Bob somehow manage to find a ride to Justice's home. After knocking on the front door, two are knocked unconscious by two women wearing hockey masks. They wake up tied up inside Justice's house. Justice then reunites with the two before admitting that she thought Jay never visited her in prison because he was mad at her. He admits it's because he wasn't allowed to have sex with her in prison. Justice then reveals that she and Jay have a lovechild. She introduces him to her, Millenium "Milly" Faulken (Harley Quinn Smith), the same teenage girl who knocked him and Bob out. However, Justice makes Jay promise not to ever tell her the truth. Before leaving, Jay mentions the trip to Chronic Con, which catches Milly's attention. As the two leave, Justice introduces Jay and Silent Bob to her wife, Reggie (Rosario Dawson), who knows about Jay for unflattering reasons.Outside, Milly and her deaf friend Soapy (Treshelle Edmond) find the two and demand that they take them along to Chronic Con since Justice and Reggie are leaving town for a vacation. When Jay declines, the two threaten to murder him and Bob unless they do so. Now terrified, the two agree. They take a ride-share to Hollywood. Jay discovers that Milly is also a stoner, but he disapproves of it and makes her put it away. She then gives him and Bob chocolates that turn out to be highly potent edibles. This causes Jay and Silent Bob to hallucinate that they are talking to their heroes, Method Man and Redman. The two rappers give Jay a dose of parenting advice.Jay and Silent Bob wake up to find themselves on a back road in just outside of New Orleans. Milly and Soapy have brought along two more of their friends, Jihad (Aparna Brielle) and Shan Yu (Alice Wen). Now needing a bigger ride, the girls initiate a plan in which they lure a pedophile from a chat-room to steal his van. Said pedophile shows up, and Jay beats him up, which the girls were counting on. They proceed to take the van.The gang drives to another Mooby's drive-thru when Jay demands that Milly tell him why they want to go to Chronic Con so bad. Milly says Shan Yu is a huge Bluntman and Chronic fan, and with her travel visa about to expire, she wants to attend the event. The girls then admit they know each other through an online support group for girls who never knew their fathers. Milly tearfully wonders why her dad never cared to be around. Jay wants to tell her the truth, but Silent Bob stops him. Outside, Merkin starts angrily stomping on the van for his arrest. When Jay and Silent Bob investigate, the girls steal the van and ditch them. The two get rid of Merkin and steal his car.The guys find the van in a lot where a KKK rally is being held. The lead Klansman (Chris Jericho) presents the girls tied up as hostages. Silent Bob pretends to be the new Grand Dragon to distract them (using the 'Mitch & Murray' speech from the film 'Glengary Glenn Ross') while Jay frees the girls. After they get back in the van, Jay drives it up with a port-a-potty and sprays the Klan with poop and fecal matter before they drive away.The gang finally makes it to Chronic Con in San Diego. As Milly heads with her friends to the panel, Jay parts ways with her and sincerely tells her that her father is an asshole for missing out on her life. Jay and Silent Bob then head to sabotage the film shoot, when they are stopped by Gordon the security guard (Diedrich Bader). He chases the two through many panels, including one with the original cast of "Clerks" (in black and white) and the stars of "Comic Book Men", as well as one win Jason Biggs and James Van Der Beek talking about how being in a Kevin Smith movie ruined their careers. They finally manage to hide with their old buddy Holden McNeil (Ben Affleck). He shows the guys that he is still good friends with Alyssa Jones (Joey Lauren Adams), as she is developing his "Chasing Amy" comic into a Netflix series. Holden also reveals that he became a donor for Alyssa and her wife to have a child, but Holden still acts as a co-parent. He presents the little girl, Amy (Logan Lee Mewes). Holden tells Jay how great fatherhood is, which inspires him to give up on his mission and be a father to Milly. Holden hooks them up with VIP passes to get into the Bluntman and Chronic shoot.The guys reunite with the girls and get them into the panel. Kevin Smith comes out to present a clip from the movie. It features Bluntman (Val Kilmer) appearing to get ready to fight Chronic (Melissa Benoist), but they instead get high with their butler Alfred (Tommy Chong). Milly notes that Silent Bob looks EXACTLY like Kevin, so after he goes backstage, Milly and Bob sneak back and knock Kevin out so Bob can pretend to be him. They use the opportunity to bring Shan Yu up to the stage. Unfortunately, Shan Yu reveals herself to be a Russian spy hellbent on destroying American pop culture. She dispatches her henchmen, all dressed like Bluntman and Chronic's archenemy Cocknocker before knocking Silent Bob out and holding Kevin at gunpoint. Jay takes the moment to reveal to Milly that he is her father, which leaves her in utter disbelief (even though they are both dressed nearly identical at this point). Silent Bob then emerges from backstage as IRON BOB, who proceeds to beat up the Cocknockers. Shan Yu then employs a sonic disrupt-er, but Soapy is unaffected by it and knocks Shan Yu out. The rest of the convention goers attack the Cocknockers while Kevin (meta as ever) decides its the perfect time to wrap up this story.Jay, Silent Bob, and Milly return home to Leonardo. They stand outside the Quick Stop so that Jay can spend time with Milly. She even starts learning his catchphrases ("Snoogans!"). As the three continue to hang out, Dante comes by and is annoyed that the shutters to open the store are jammed.Outtakes are featured during the credits, with Jay and Silent Bob interacting with some fans and other former Kevin Smith cast mates. There is also a touching tribute to Stan Lee in which Kevin is shown practicing what would have been Stan's intended cameo with the man himself. As such, the film is dedicated to him.After the credits, Jay admits to Milly that for the last 25 years, he and Silent Bob have been pranking Dante by putting gum in the locks.

            The film opens with four people running from an unseen creature. One of them (Eve) is caught and mauled to death, much to her husband's horror. They race off as the creature begins to consume her.Some time later, a group of five friends, consisting of Jeff (Parker Young), his step-sister Alissa (Keke Palmer), her best friend and Jeff's girlfriend Mandy (Elizabeth Gillies), Alissa's boyfriend Matt (Jeremy Sumpter), and Jeff's friend Sean (Paul Iacono), enter the woods for a camping trip, only to find the trail blocked off for forest rejuvenation. Undeterred, they park their car and go hiking. Matt finds a Marine's discarded backpack. Later that night, while the others discuss which way to go, Mandy walks off the trail to see bits of human remains and screams. The others rush to her side and upon discovering what she saw, decide to call the rangers once they get back to the car. On the way there they discover an mutant creature feeding on a upon something unseen. They attempt to go around it at first but it hears them and looks towards them. Jeff tries to scare it off only for it to become aggressive and chase them down. While hiding out they find the abandoned house from earlier in the movie. Jeff decides to distract the creature while the others run to the house. Unfortunately, he did not know that it was behind him and it attacks and kills him as the others run to the house, horrified at Jeff's demise, and plead to be let in. One of the men inside the house opens the entry way and lets them in. As they run in, the creature grabs Mandy and begins to pull her back while a woman lights something on fire and throws it at the creature. It lets go and they pull Mandy inside the house and the woman tends to her wounds.They meet the three survivors from earlier, Carl (Thorsten Kaye), his wife Vicky (Joey Lauren Adams), and Douglas (Amaury Nolasco), who have been hiding from the monster inside the house and barricaded every door and window. They explain that the house was abandoned when they got there but they did not put up all the barricades. The group decides to help them barricade the house some more and strengthen the weak spots as the creature apparently tests for weak spots and seems to know something about the house as it earlier at an unseen point broke in through the cellar. Douglas refuses to help and remains upstairs. Alissa attempts to rationalize this in the kitchen while Matt tells her she's over thinking this and that it is just an animal. The creature attempts to break in through the kitchen window and Carl and Sean rush in and helps them barricade the window with a door. The creature then begins to test for weak spots and crashes in upstairs. While Douglas comes downstairs because of this, Carl, Sean, and Matt go upstairs to find it while Vicky goes to get fire. The group upstairs discovers creature in a room and try to close the door while the creature tries to break it down. Downstairs, the stick won't light and Mandy and Alissa rush upstairs to help and struggle to put drag a dresser in front of the door. The creature breaks a spot in the door open as Sean rushes downstairs. The girls continue to struggle as Sean then returns with Bear Replant from earlier in the movie and sprays the creature in the face. It seems to work as the creature runs off and Douglas finally helps and helps put the dresser in front of the door and says it won't hold and that they need to get out of there.Downstairs, they gather and while Sean remains hopeful that the help he contacted earlier will come, Douglas denies it saying he already tried earlier and no one has come. He says they need to sacrifice someone to get out and Carl disagrees refusing to kill anyone. Matt agrees with both and decides to go for help while Carl and Sean distract the monster while the four groups stay in contact with walkie-talkies, but it catches on and attacks Matt who warns them the creature is coming. Carl and Sean attempt to get back into the house but Douglas refuses them entry saying that they all heard Matt say the creature was coming. Vicky attempts to let them in but is knocked out by Douglas and Alissa contacts Carl and Sean, telling them to go to the kitchen door. The creature approaches and still Carl has not responded. The creature comes onto the porch just as Carl responds and sees that the flare and walkie it followed was abandoned by Carl and Sean who are now inside the house through the kitchen door. Carl knocks out Douglas.Douglas wakes up tied to the stair well and demands to be let go. Alissa looks around the house as Mandy follows. Alissa says she wants to kill the monster for what it's done and Mandy hugs her sobbing and reveals that she is pregnant and to count her in on whatever she is planning. They go and find Sean who is in hysterics from all the stress and does not want to die with a secret. He reveals that he and Jeff were having an affair. Alissa breaks up the verbal argument that follows and the group hears beeping coming from a walkie in the living room. They find that Matt is paging them and is alive in the cellar. Carl leads Alissa and Mandy down and begins to help get Matt out of the cellar upon his discovery with Mandy's assistance. The creature is shown to be waiting and Carl sacrifices himself to give the others time to get Matt out.Alissa attempts to keep Matt alive as the tied up Douglas, Mandy, and Sean look on. Vicky is elsewhere in the house sitting in shock and mourning her dead husband. Matt attempts to tell them something regarding the creature as Alissa continues to try and help him. Douglas tells her Matt is dying but she is adamant he can be saved. He continues to try and convince them that Matt is better off being used as bait for their escape as Vicky returns to the room. He asks for a better plan, expecting none, but Alissa says they know if they open the door the creature will come in and suggests trapping it and burning the house as they escape. Douglas agrees and Sean says they need to act fast for Matt's sake. Douglas says he will help carry Matt as that is Matt's only chance. Alissa signals Sean to untie Douglas and he does. Matt attempts to tell Alissa he loves her but is beaten to death by Douglas while the others look on and scream in horror. He argues with the others saying it was simple and that he did not kill anyone, merely sped up a clock that was already ticking.As Douglas drags off Matt's body while continuing to yell at the others, the creature breaks in through door and Douglas is then attacked as the others watch in horror. While the monster devours Douglas, Alissa grabs matches and a bag and they retreat to the kitchen while Alissa goes to grab the kerosene she saw earlier while Mandy stands watch. They begin to pour kerosene in the kitchen and as they knock something over the creature is finally distracted enough from consuming Douglas' body and goes to investigate. While a small area burns the creature investigates the house, looking for the others. Sean, Mandy, and Vicky have retreated to the cellar after closing it back off and listen to the creature search for them. Alissa closes the creature in a room where she begins to burn it to death. The others start to head out of the cellar from its other entrance as Alissa turns away from the fire. Vicky sees Carl's body and goes to his side and beings talking to him as if still alive as Mandy tells her they need to go. Sean screams for them and screams as he is tossed down, attacked and dragged off as another creature calls out. Mandy pulls Vicky away from Carl and they run off. Mandy escapes outside only to turn around and see Vicky in the doorway begin to bleed from her stomach as she is attacked from behind by the second creature. Mandy looks on and screams as she sees its head as Vicky is dragged away. She runs off to Alissa. They run off as the creature chases them. Mandy falls and as Alissa tells her to get up and that she can, the creature catches up. It attacks Alissa as Mandy screams and looks on in horror. As Alissa finally dies and the creature begins to consume her, Mandy runs. She throws her over shirt to throw her scent and covers herself in dirt to cover the rest of her scent from the creature.She manages to make it to their car and start it as the second creature breaks through the drivers side window, she climbs out the passenger side and runs around to the drivers side as the creature runs around the car to get to her. She reverses as it begins to climb over the car and throws it off. She runs it over twice and the drives away. A third monster steps out of the forest, going to the second creatures side and calls out.
