            An unknown woman enters a hospital and goes to the maternity ward dressed as a nurse. She passes a security guard, who asks for identification. She ignores him, and takes the elevator. She then grabs a baby, and tries to leave, only to be stopped by the security guard. He tries to reason with the unknown woman, only to be stabbed in the neck by an unseen man.Earlier...................Beth Sohapi (Jaime King) is having a birthday party for her husband, Daniel Sohapi (Frank Grillo) with the help of their friends, married couple Treshawn (Lyriq Bent) and Gina Jackson (Kandyse McClure).Meanwhile, three brothers, Ike (Patrick Flueger), Addley (Warren Kole), and Johnny Koffin (Matt O'Leary), are on the run from the law after a bank robbery gone wrong. Johnny, the youngest, has been shot, and has his brothers panicking. The brothers decide to head for home, so that their mother can provide them with a getaway.Back at the house, Dave Lowe (Tony Nappo) and his fiancee, Annette Langston (Briana Evigan), George Barnum (Shawn Ashmore) and his girlfriend, Melissa McGuire (Jessie Rusu), and Daniel's co-worker, and friend, Julie Ross (Lisa Marcos) arrive and are also celebrating Daniel's birthday. The news reports a tornado is heading their way, and the basement is tornado proof.The three brothers reach their mother's home, and find that their mother is nowhere to be found, and that their stuff has been replaced. Addley begins to freak out. Daniel, thinking it's his friend, Charlie, who has found a way in, goes upstairs to greet him, only to be attacked by the brothers. They learn that Beth and Daniel now own the house, after their mother lost the house on a foreclosure. As they are ready to flee the home, Beth appears from the basement. Confused, and not knowing what she is seeing, Beth flees but only reaches the front lawn, before Ike drags her back inside. Addley and Ike begin to bicker, and Beth tells them that George is a doctor. Ike makes her bring George upstairs, and threatens to kill Daniel if she tries to trick him. Without alerting her friends, Beth asks George for help, who is quickly forced to help Johnny. Ike gets a phone call from his sister, Lydia (Deborah Ann Woll), who informs him that she and their mother are now living in an RV,and will be on their way to the house. Just as Ike hangs up, Julie emerges from the basement, and is chased back down by Addley, who forces them down on the ground. Julie tries to run out the basement doors, but Addley pulls her, and she knocks herself out. Ike brings Beth and Daniel downstairs, and tells Addley to stay calm. As Ike begins to assist George, Addley stays downstairs harassing the hostages, by pretending to rape Annette, and taking Dave's wig. After a while, Lydia pulls over, and the brothers' "Mother" Natalie Koffin (Rebecca De Mornay) appears and is angry at Ike for losing their emergency phone. She also tells him that she has someone who will cross them across the border to Canada, but it will cost them ten thousand dollars.Natalie is taken to the basement and meets the hostages. Initially, she is nice to the hostages, thanking George for saving her son, and even tells Lydia to assist him. She also apologizes to the hostages for her children's mistake, explaining it is all a misunderstanding and she will be leaving in the morning after Johnny gets better. She learns that her sons have been sending her money every month, since she lost the house. She tries to ask Beth and Daniel, politely, for the money, but after they tell her that they have no idea of what she is talking about, she thinks that they are hiding it, and tries to get them to cave, by forcing Addley and Ike to break Daniel's hand.Afterwards, Natalie robs the hostages, and makes them write down their ATM pin numbers. As she tells Beth to go with Ike to withdraw all the money from their debit cards, Melissa quickly gets up, and runs upstairs, with Addley going after her. as she reaches the door, George attacks Addley, but is hit in the face with the gun. A frightened Melissa runs to the front door, and is shot in the face. After they load Melissa into the trunk, Beth and Ike take off, leaving Natalie and Addley to clean up the mess, while Lydia syphons the hostages' gas. After cleaning the mess, Natalie confronts Addley for hurting Annette. He breaks down, as his Mother punishes him. George wakes up, and is told that his life depends on Johnny, while he threatens to kill Johnny if anything happens to his friends.Meanwhile, Ike and Beth stop at a dumpster, where Ike forces Beth to throw Melissa over, after they find it to be locked. Back at the house, George notices that Lydia seems to have some issues, and has issues with Addley. Downstairs, in the basement, the hostages begin to split into two groups, as one wants to fight back, while the other wants to listen to the family. Lydia then appears and takes Annette upstairs, where she is forced to serve ice cream. She quickly realizes that George is still alive, and that Natalie just wants to protect her children.Beth and Ike pull over at an ATM, where Beth begins to withdraw the money, when two young party girls, Vicky Rice (A.J. Cook) and Jenna Luther (Alexa Vega) pull up in their car and get in line behind them, mocking Beth for taking so long. While Ike tries to get the women to go to another ATM, Beth tries to get Vicky's attention and warns her to leave, but before the two girls can, Ike realizes what is going on, and holds them hostage. Ike then teaches Beth a lesson (as they had an argument earlier that murder is human nature) by giving the girls one knife, and telling them that whoever kills the other, will get to live. Vicky picks the knife up, but quickly drops it after Jenna pleads. Ike then decides to kill them both, so Jenna kills Vicky. Jenna hears an ambulance, and runs towards it, but is shot down by Ike in the process.Back at house, Annette tries to get the others to listen, as Natalie is only helping her sons, only to be ignored by Treshawn. In the dump, two sanitation workers pull over, and find a whimpering Melissa behind the dumpster, and call the police. Lydia is in the restroom, trying to wash off some blood from her shirt, when George walks in. He finds her pills on the floor, and she informs him that she must take them because of her sensitive skin. George tells her that the pills are sugar, and learns she never saw a doctor, and was also home schooled. He then tells her that her mother lied to have Lydia cover herself up, so that boys don't notice her. He gives her his shirt, and she takes it, just as Natalie walks in on them. She warns George to stay away from her. As they hear the news, police officer Skay (Mike O'Brien), pulls over and Natalie forces Daniel to send the officer away, threatening to hurt Beth. Daniel co-operates with the officer, and sends him away. After being sent downstairs, Natalie realizes Daniel is a good liar, and tells Lydia to look for the money downstairs. There, Lydia finds a Valentine's Day card to Julie, from Daniel.Meanwhile, Ike tells Beth that they don't have enough money, so Beth tells him how Treshawn owns a dry cleaner's. Ike gives Beth the phone, and calls Treshawn to ask him for the safe's pass code. Treshawn does so, and also tells Beth he has a gun in the cabinet.As Johnny begins to bleed, he breaks down to his Mother, and tells her he doesn't want to die a virgin, breaking his Mother's heart. George, who asked to get cleaned up, finds Lydia, and asks who Queenie is, a name he heard earlier. A scared Lydia tells him the story of Queenie, a monster who her mother says lives in the woods, and punishes bad kids. Although she doesn't believe the story, she is still traumatized by the sounds she hears outside.Down in the basement, the hostages are trying to keep calm, when Addley comes down the stairs, and tells them that one of the women is getting lucky by popping his younger brother's cherry. As he asks who they choose to send upstairs, everyone turns their back on Julie, so Addley drags her upstairs. An angry Treshawn grabs a pool stick and runs after them, but Mother quickly brings Julie back downstairs, stating she is not worthy of her son, and quickly lays her eyes on Gina, after Treshawn tries to be the "strong man". She finds Gina perfect, and tells Addley to take Gina upstairs, who breaks down, and tells them that Dave works at a bank, and he and Annette are not friends of hers, nor Treshawn's. Mother Natalie, not knowing who to pick, forces Treshawn and Dave to fight, and the loser's woman will be forced upstairs. As the two men decline, she threatens to take both women. As Addley plays the song "Whack-A-Doo", Dave and Treshawn fight, as their women cheer for them not to give up. Treshawn ends up winning, and Annette is dragged upstairs by Addley. Back upstairs, Johnny has stopped breathing, and George is trying to convince Lydia to change her mind, as she is not like her family, but Lydia shows she loves her family, and will not turn against them. As Johnny is revived, Addley walks in with Annette, and calls his mother. Lydia notices what is going on, and warns her Mother that what she plans to do is not right, but Mother tells Lydia that they are lying to them, and are hiding the money.At the dry cleaner's, Beth mixes the combination numbers to buy some time at getting Treshawn's gun. After Ike opens the safe, and gets the money, Beth gets the gun, and points it at Ike. As he gives her the cellphone, Ike reaches for the gun, and Beth hits him in the head with an iron. She runs and hides in the clothes, after finding the doors locked. Ike begins taunting her, while she is on hold with the police. As she reaches the police, Ike catches her.Back at the house, Mother is makes Annette change into something more "decent". While looking through a box which contains pictures of a boy, and various newspaper articles, it is concluded Daniel and Beth have been having problems after their son was run over. Annette pleads that she believed Mother that no one would be hurt, but Mother ignores her pleads, and takes her to Johnny. As George tries to protect Annette, Lydia is forced to take him away, where they try to tune out the screams. Annette is forced to strip for Johnny, as Mother forces Annette to touch Johnny, who seems to feel pity for Annette. As they are about to begin, Johnny wounds begin to bring pain, and Annette is forced downstairs to the basement, after George tells her to go to the "gold box". Downstairs, Treshawn is able to unlock the basement doors, but is forced to retrieve back when Addley bursts downstairs with Annette. He taunts Dave by smacking Annette's butt, which causes Dave to attack Addley. As Gina runs to open the basement doors, Treshawn runs to help Dave, only for Addley to accidentally shoot Dave in the face, causing it to explode. As Addley apologizes, a hysterical Annette runs to her dead boyfriend, while Mother notices Gina is escaping. Mother turns to Daniel, and threatens to kill Beth if he doesn't bring Gina back. Ignoring Treshawn's pleads, Daniel runs after Gina, who has found no help as the tornado is getting closer. Gina hears Daniel, and pleads for him to go with her, as Mother will not let any of them live. Daniel declines, and tries to get Gina to go back with him, who doesn't agree, and tries to run away. Daniel grabs her, but Gina squeezes his broken hand, before fleeing after an ambulance. Daniel takes off after her, and pushes her down.Elsewhere, at the hospital, Melissa is rushed into the ER, but is unable to say what has happened to her, as they have drugged her. The tornado has brought a heavy storm, and Ike and Beth are almost at the house, when Officer Skay pulls them over, citing that he is forced to bring people to a shelter. Beth lets him know that she and her "husband" are on their way home, which is less than a mile away. Beth gives Skay the insurance, which includes her and Daniel's name. Skay sees the insurance, and understands that Beth is being held hostage. He tricks Ike by confusing Beth and Daniel's last name, "Sohapi" and "so happy". Ike falls for the confusion, and Skay makes him turn off the car. Ike, knowing the officer is on to him, gets out of the car, and shoots Skay down. He makes Beth drive, but then makes her run over Skay, as he is wearing a vest, but Beth flips the car over at the last minute.Meanwhile, Gina wakes up in the basement, with Mother standing over her, Addley boiling water, and Lydia pointing a gun at her. Mother lets Gina know that she will have to be punished. Mother gets out of sight, and Treshawn is now tied up in a column, with plastic wrap. Mother informs Gina that she will be punished by punishing Treshawn instead of her. Addley gets the boiling water, and burns Treshawn's ears. The hot water also goes into his eyes. Julie, Annette, and Daniel watch this in horror, as they are also tied up in a column with plastic wrap. Gina also watches in horror, not being able to do anything, as Lydia points a gun at her the whole time.Back at the storm, Skay gets up, being slightly injured, and goes to Beth's aide. Beth is injured, and lets Skay know that Ike is not moving. As Skay approaches to help Beth, Ike opens his eyes, and points the gun at Skay's forehead, before pulling the trigger, as Beth cries. Mother begins to walk around, thinking for a way to make Daniel give up the money, when she finds the box with his son's memories, and takes it to Daniel, where she taunts him with them. Daniel cries, as Mother burns a picture, and asks for the money. Daniel cries that he doesn't have it, angering Mother, who continues to burn all of his stuff. Mother then turns to Julie, and makes Addley drop liquor on her head, before burning her head. Mother then quickly goes to Julie, and puts the fire out, stating that "Marriage is sacred". As she goes upstairs, Mother begins to question whether she was doing wrong, torturing an innocent, so she begins to look around for the money. Gina, now tied up with plastic wrap on the floor, finds a way to get up. She turns on the chimney, and puts her bound hands through it, burning the plastic wrap off. She unties herself, and quickly goes to Treshawn. At the hospital, Melissa is able to wake up during operation, and warns the doctor that Beth is in trouble. The doctors get the police.Meanwhile, Annette remembers the gold box that George told her about, and tells Gina to open it. As Gina opens it and finds knives, Mother finds a painting in the restroom. She grabs it, and finds all the money that her sons have been sending her inside it. She orders Addley to bring Daniel upstairs. Addley goes to the basement and finds Treshawn missing, but before he can react, Daniel attacks him, and Gina puts plastic wrap over his face. Daniel and Annette then take turns stabbing him, as he apologizes for what he has done. Julie is also about to stab him, but drops him, showing remorse. Treshawn, now half deaf and blind, grabs Addley's gun, and goes upstairs to try and kill Mother. Gina goes after him, trying to stop him, but Treshawn does not hear her. She surprises Treshawn, who reacts quickly, and shoots her in the side. As he realizes what he did, Mother shoots him dead. Mother goes to the basement, and finds Addley dead. She calls Ike, and makes Daniel say goodbye to Beth. As he lets Beth know he is sorry, Mother shoots Daniel dead, as Beth listens, and breaks down. Mother then tells Ike that Addley is dead, and to bring Beth home. Ike then begins to grieve his brother's death.Back at the house, Lydia ties Julie and Annette with plastic wrap again. George begins to tell Mother that none of her kids look like one another, and look nothing like her. Mother, enraged, threatens to kill him, but Lydia convinces her that they need George. Ike and Beth then burst through the front door, and Mother lets Ike know Beth and Daniel had the money all along, and makes George and Lydia help Ike take Johnny to the RV. Mother reveals to Julie and Annette that Beth was the one who hid the money and is the one responsible for all their friend's deaths. Beth then reveals that she was hiding the money for the baby that she will have. She also reveals she knew Daniel was cheating, and wanted to leave him. Mother, now enraged, makes her take a pregnancy test.In the RV, Ike tells George he must now shoot George, as they don't need him anymore, but Lydia pleads that he can come with him. Ike agrees, and turns to Johnny. As George is going to thank Lydia, Johnny shoots him dead, stating that he knows George will somehow find a way to tell the police. Lydia exits the RV, and breaks down. Beth takes the pregnancy test, and it comes out positive. Mother tells Beth that she is lucky to have life in her belly. As she turns, Beth grabs the toilet lid, and knocks out Mother, before going to Annette and Julie. She unties Annette, and tells her about a rifle in the garage, while Beth unties Julie. Ike exits the RV, and goes looking for Lydia. After Beth unties Julie, who reveals to Beth she was Daniel's mistress, Annette gets the rifle, but finds it to be empty. Beth runs to the garage, while Julie says they should run for it. She goes to the front door, finds Lydia, and closes the door, before running after Beth. Julie runs into Ike, who is aiming a shotgun at her. She closes the door and tries to run away, but half her face is blown off as Ike shoots her. In the garage, Beth and Annette try looking for bullets, but are forced to hide when they hear Ike coming. Ike begins to look for them, but they attack him. He is able to grab Beth, but Annette shoots him in the face with a nail gun. They make a run for it, but Ike attacks them again. They begin to choke him, before filling his face with Drano, and then dropping a television on his face. The two hear Mother coming. Annette goes looking for help, while Beth faces Mother.Mother, now filled with raged that her oldest son is dead, goes after Beth. The two fight, and Mother is able to knock Beth down. Mother begins filling the house with gasoline, and lights it on fire, just as Beth wakes up. She grabs a cutting board, and knocks out Mother with it. She goes outside, just as the firefighters reach the house. She hugs Annette, just as the firefighters find a survivor. They find Gina, who is severely injured. Beth tells the firefighters that Mother is still inside, but the firefighters find no one, as the house burns down.Months later, Beth's water has broke, and she is taken to the hospital by Annette, Gina, and Melissa. That night, Beth wakes up to the emergency alarms going off. She gets up, and goes to check on her son, who is now missing. Beth screams in horror that her infant son is gone.In the final scene, Mother Natalie is revealed to be alive and well and was in fact the woman at the beginning who broke into the maternity ward, and Johnny was the unseen doctor who killed the security guard. Lydia is driving the RV, while Mother Natalie sings Beth's baby a lullaby and telling Lydia and Johnny that they have a new member to the family... implying that she has gotten her final twisted and cruel back-at-you revenge against Beth by abducting her baby and will raise it as her own... in a life of crime, murder and other debauchery.

            The girls of Prescott Academy are taught practically since birth how to become trained assassins. Their number one rule is "no attachments". Number 83 (Hailee Steinfeld) has always had curiosity of the world outside the Academy, however. Despite her excellent work in the field, she has dreamt of a normal life. Her mentor Hardman (Samuel L. Jackson) has always discouraged her and the other girls from becoming attached to anything. 83's skills have also made her rivals with 84 (Sophie Turner).Hardman assigns the girls to capture wanted arms dealer Victoria Knox (Jessica Alba). The agents head to Chechnya to apprehend her. 83 goes undercover as one of those captured and brought before Knox. She manages to latch herself and Knox onto an oncoming jet with Hardman on it. When they get high and far enough, 83 drops herself into a river while the other agents apprehend Knox. They find no sign of 83 and declare her MIA.83 goes into hiding to start her new life as a regular teenager. She brushes up on her teen culture through popular magazines and watching movies like "Mean Girls" and "Bring It On", then enrolls in a high school and goes through an exchange program to live with the Larson family under the name Megan Walsh. She is picked up by Mrs. Larson (Rachael Harris) and her children Liz (Dove Cameron) and Parker (Jason Ian Drucker). Parker already likes Megan but Liz is cold and distant.Megan/83 picks a ridiculous outfit for her first day of school and is immediately laughed at. Liz gets embarrassed and gives her new clothes to put on. Megan gets introduced to the students at an assembly where she says she is from Regina, Canada, but she pronounces it to rhyme with "vagina". The students laugh at her, but she is saved by the school's most popular guy, Cash (Toby Sebastian), as he goes up to play his guitar and sing. He then performs onstage with his band, Emotacon.As Megan continues her new life as a high school student, she makes friends with a geeky kid named Roger (Thomas Mann), who has an interest in her, despite her attraction to Cash. Megan finds out she's in a biology class with him and hacks the system to make him her lab partner, to the ire of two mean girls. As retaliation, the girls convince Megan that Cash loves girls with school spirit and suggest she try out for the position of school mascot. Using her combat skills in her tryout, Megan scores the position. During a game, a few kids from a rival school come and try to kidnap Megan as part of an annual tradition. She kicks their asses and the video of her doing this goes viral. It earns her some popularity, but also annoys Liz.Back at Prescott, Hardman is holding Knox in captivity. 84 walks in on them as Knox tells Hardman that Prescott destroys lives, and she's not just talking about the targets.Megan spends more time with Cash, to Roger's dismay. As she's walking home, she is apprehended by a Prescott analyst (Jaime King) and is brought back to Hardman. He is ready to have his minion Pedro (Steve-O) torture Megan under the assumption that she is working with enemies of Prescott. He injects her with a truth serum and realizes she is honest when she says she only wanted to enjoy a normal life outside the Academy. Pedro also sympathizes with Megan as she cries. Hardman lets her go but warns her that if she gets into trouble, they won't be there to bail her out. They dump her on the front porch of the Larson house to make Megan look like she's super drunk.Megan gets invited to a big party at the home of the school's class clown Gooch (Gabriel Basso). Mrs. Larson encourages Megan to go and makes Liz join her. At the party, Megan continues to hang out with Cash, while Liz gets drunk with Gooch in his bathtub, learning that his name is really Bernard and that he's not a total jerk. To Megan's surprise, 84 is there, now going by Heather. Megan thinks Hardman sent Heather to shadow her, but she has her own plan brewing. She goes after cash to piss Megan off, forcing them into a game. Megan eventually wins Cash's attention and gets asked by him to the homecoming dance.The next morning, Mrs. Larson is upset with Megan and Liz since Liz passed out and got a dick drawn on her face. Megan is later about to take the bus to school when she sees that Hardman is driving a bus and only passes through to warn Megan that Knox has escaped from Prescott. Liz drives Megan to school, but they are pursued by a masked assassin. Megan steers them away from danger and admits to Liz her secret. They crash in a junkyard while also getting the assassin to crash. Megan goes to investigate and smells what she recognizes to be Ke$ha perfume, meaning it was Heather that tried to murder them.Liz is in the hospital after the crash. Megan tells her she has to leave before anybody else gets hurt. Liz responds that Megan trying to abandon the family would be worse.The girls go to the homecoming dance. Megan realizes that Cash is kind of a boring person and dumps him. She goes to apologize to Roger, who is still sort of upset with her, and then she finds out that his date is Heather. She provokes Megan's rage and they fight in the gym. They spill punch on the mean girls, who then start to fight each other. Heather chases Megan into the hallway where they end up in the kitchen. Heather says she joined Knox for the chance to kill Megan herself. She also brags about making out with Cash AND Roger. Liz sneaks up on Heather and stabs her in the leg with a corn dog stick, allowing Megan to whack Heather over the head and knock her out.Megan returns home to find that Knox and some goons have taken Parker and Mrs. Larson hostage. Megan fights the goons but Liz gets captured as well. Knox reveals that she was the very first Prescott girl, but she left and turned against them for robbing her of her life. Hardman shows up with reinforcements to take out the goons and tranquilize Knox. Megan knows Hardman came back to help her, despite his denial, and she hugs him. Parker asks Hardman how he can get in on the action, and he tells him to apply for the Prescott boys school. He excitedly asks his mom if he can.

            The movie starts with radio broadcasts and police communications going back and forth. Through them we learn that there has been a cave-in at the north side of Hanniger Mining Co. Eventually, rescue teams find six people in the shaft -- five of them dead and one of them, Harry Warden (Richard John Walters), in a coma. The local papers are soon accusing Harry of having gone crazy and murdering the other five miners to prolong his air supply, and given the condition of some bodies there is enough evidence to support this. Exactly one year later, on Valentine's Day, we see Harry's brain remembering the last few minutes before the collapse, which consist of him telling Tom (Jensen Ackles), the son of the boss, to not screw up and threatening him a little. Something goes wrong, however, and soon everything is collapsing and Tom barely makes it out alive. Suddenly Harry wakes up and looks around, trying to bring his memory up to date. A nurse enters the room and before she can sound the alarm, gets killed by Harry.Not long after, we see Sheriff Burke (Tom Atkins) and one of his deputies touring the hospital massacre scene (makes the Saw movies look like a Lassie film). They enter Harry's room and see him missing and a nurse with her heart removed and on the counter beneath a message reading "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY" and are soon giving chase, figuring that he'd head to the mine. Meanwhile, over at said mine, a big senior party is in full-swing for the high-school set. One of the kids, Axel (Kerr Smith), is making out with his girlfriend Irene (Betsy Rue) while waiting for her friend Sarah to arrive, although Axel isn't excited since she'll be bringing Tom in all likelihood. Sure enough, Sarah (Jaime King) does arrive with Tom and the boys are naturally cool towards each other. Axel and Irene head into the mine with Axel telling her that he doesn't trust Tom as Sarah and Tom hang back a second. Tom reassures Sarah that he's fine with being there and they go in. The foursome splits up (as one does in "haunted" houses) and Sarah is soon lost. She calls out for Tom and is surprised by some kid named Jason. He calls for his buddy but instead gets pickaxed from behind by Harry. Sarah screams and runs, but Harry has already been through, killing nearly everyone. She runs into Axel and Irene and the three of them hide just as Jason's friend comes up. The friend inadvertently reveals them before getting killed and the trio heads for the front entrance. They pass Tom and drag him along, but Tom trips on some wires and gets abandoned. Axel shoves the girls into his car despite Sarah's attempts to get to Tom just as Harry throws a pickaxe at them, which comes within centimeters of impaling Sarah (it gets stuck in the windshield). They back out of there just as Burke and his deputy arrive. The two of them shoot at Harry just before he can kill Tom, and Harry heads deeper into the mine as Burke and the deputy give chase...Ten years later, we enter in on now-sheriff Axel having lunch in a diner while watching an interview of himself on TV regarding the ten-year anniversary of the "Valentine's Day Massacre", during which he loudly and profanely tells the reporters to, essentially, get a life (note that that's watered way down). One of the customers, miner Ben Foley (Kevin Tighe), starts sarcastically congratulating Axel about the interview just as one of Axel's deputies, Martin (Edi Gathegi) comes in and pulls him out to work. As he's driving, Axel gets a call from his wife, Sarah (yes, Tom's Sarah), and they talk for a few minutes before she gets back to her job working at a local grocery store (not chain, just....local). A little later, we see Axel pulled up outside his dad's cabin and we see that inside he is having sex with Sarah's co-worker Megan (Megan Boone). She tries to give him a box of Valentine's chocolates with a note that says "Be Mine 4 Ever", and he accepts as graciously as a married man wanting to keep a secret could.Not far away, we see Tom looking out over the mine, watching the workers do their thing. That night he goes over to Ben's house and is told that they're not selling until Monday, which Tom is less than pleased with. Ben says that Tom's dad would be disappointed that Tom is selling the mine, but Tom doesn't care -- he just wants to sell the place and get back out of town. He goes to a motel and grabs a room from the dwarf hotel manager, inadvertently passing a room where he sees Irene and a trucker having very loud sex....in the room right next to his. As Tom tries to shut them out, Irene and the trucker finish up. Irene (completely naked) starts waxing philosophic about Valentine's Day and the Romans (short version: the males were randomly assigned secret sex slaves for the next year by pulling the girls names out of a hat....or something like that). Frank doesn't care and pulls a camera out of his bag, showing that he taped it, and throws some money at Irene, calling her a whore and walking out. Irene throws the money at the door, goes into her bathroom, and grabs a gun from under the sink. She walks into the parking lot (still naked) and demands the tape from Frank, who calls her bluff by pointing out the lack of bullets, which in turn makes her use the gun as a projectile weapon (she throws it at his head and scores a bulls-eye). He curses and opens the truck door...and gets pickaxed by a guy in a miner outfit. Irene screams and runs for the phone in the office, just barely getting through to the cops before moving to hide in the manager's room. She gets under the bed (still naked) just as the miner enters the room. He looks around but doesn't see her in the closet and is about to leave before the manager starts calling for her pug dog. She looks in the closet and gets pickaxed through half her body and into the overhead lights. Irene lets out a squeal and is discovered. She manages to keep the bed frame between her and the miner while carrying it towards the door with her (not bolted down), but eventually she loses it and is pickaxed through the stomach....again....and again....Not long after, Axel and all his cops are there, including deputies Martin and Ferris (Karen Baum). They look at the mutilated bodies and discover something missing -- Irene's heart. They check the guest log and find Tom's name as the last person who registered for a room. The investigation continues into the next day, when Axel gets a valentine from a secret admirer....and inside it is Irene's heart. Meanwhile, at Sarah's store, she is working the register when Tom comes up to her, wanting to get together with her and talk things out, although she is less than willing to, what with being married. That night, as Axel investigates and Sarah works, we see Tom getting into a bar fight with all the miners who will now be out of work once the mine closes...although the real cause is more the fact that they think he had something to do with the murders. Foley and Burke step in, and Burke tells Tom to get out of there, since he is unwilling to save Tom's life a third time. Later that night, Sarah is putting her and Tom's son Noah to bed and sending their house sitter Nora home when she hears Axel watching the tape from the hotel. He tells her what happened and mentions how Tom is a suspect and some people are saying that Harry Warden is back from the dead. When she tells him that Tom spoke to her earlier at the store, he cautions her and tells her to call him if Tom tries to get in touch with her again.The next morning, Sarah is opening the store when Tom pops up behind her. They take a brief walk and Sarah explains that she can't be with Tom because he spent the last ten years running. She leaves him and he heads up to the mine, determined to talk to Ben and tell him that he's not selling and is staying. He is told that Ben is currently in tunnel 3 and, after being outfitted, is driven down there by a guy named Red. They stop at the main intersection and Red rings 3 as Tom heads to some electrical equipment behind a chain-link door. Something shoves him in there and he turns and sees the miner, which terrifies him into silence. The miner gestures with his pickaxe for him to be quiet and then wedges the lock shut. The miner turns and heads for Red, who manages to see him and fights him off as over the phone the other miners hear his shouts and start converging. The miner gets the upper hand and drives the axe through Red's forehead before starting an attempt to take out his heart. This gets interrupted by the approaching miners, though, and the miner runs off just as the rest of the crew comes running up, at first thinking that it's Tom's fault before saner heads point out how he was stuck in there. They snap the lock open and Tom is taken to a hospital where he gets stitched up while telling his story to Axel, who doesn't believe a word of it, since he knows Harry Warden is dead. Ben, who was stuck in tunnel 3, finally arrives and Axel reveals that he knows what Harry and the sheriff and the other town fathers did with Harry -- namely, dispatch him vigilante-style and bury him in the woods. Less than two hours later, Axel, Sarah, Martin, Tom, Ben, and Burke are hiking through the woods towards Harry's gravesite. Burke is explaining that a bunch of them got together after the massacre and tracked him down into the mine. They shot him full of bullets and then gave him a better burial then he deserved (according to Burke), so he is definitely dead. They come upon an exit from one of the mine tunnels, which Ben and Burke identify as the site but the site has already been unburied.Back at the police station, Axel is interrogating Tom, but Tom is sticking to his story and saying that he's probably gonna stay in town for good this time. Axel gets upset and starts throwing stuff around but Martin breaks it up. Tom is let go and both he and Axel make vows (Tom to Sarah, Axel to Martin) that they will find the guy doing this.
Click HereThat night, we see Tom hanging around the mines after dark. He approaches the exterior entrance to Tunnel 5. He looks inside and sees....nothing. He steps back outside but the door doesn't close all the way and it creaks open again. He stares back at it but before he can do anything further he sees the miner watching him from the forest. The pickaxe gets pointed at him but the miner simply turns and walks away. Tom gives chase and eventually is led to Axel's cabin, of all places. Tom goes in the open door and looks around. Meanwhile, Ben is drunk at home and playing with a shotgun (it's unloaded) when someone knocks on his door. He yells for who it is but no one answers. He gets up and loads the shotgun. Cautiously, he looks around outside but sees nothing and laughs it off, cursing Harry for making him jump at shadows. He goes back inside and unloads the gun just as Harry/the miner steps out from the shadows. Ben turns and manages to get the shotgun up to defended against the axe. The shotgun gets batted away but Harry misses again as Ben rolls and the axe goes into the floor, pointy end up. Harry manages to get his hands around Ben and, after some more struggling, drives him into the axe. Over at the station, we see Axel getting more and more frustrated, especially since both Tom and Ben are missing-in-action. That record ends, though, when they get a call saying that Ben is dead. Axel orders Ferris over to his house to watch his kid and him and Martin head over to Harry's to check things out there.Meanwhile, Megan and Sarah are busy closing up the grocery store when they hear a noise up front. After verifying that Megan did indeed lock the front door, they check it out and see that the door is still locked and that no one is there. Another noise sounds from in the back and they star looking up the aisles, just barely missing seeing Harry in the back. They split up and Sarah goes up the freezer aisle and is attacked by Harry. He puts his axe in one of the freezers and starts trying to get her but she manages to hit him with a leg of lamb. He chases her, but is distracted by Megan attacking him with a mop. The two girls run to the loading area and into the office, pursued by Harry and his axe. They shove a few things against the door as he tries to get through and Megan starts trying to unlock the exterior screen so they can escape through the window while Sarah quickly calls the cops. She gets it open and is halfway out before they realize Harry has gone. Sarah tries to pull Megan back in but Harry gets to her first and pulls her out. Sarah gets back out of the office and heads for the front door where Axel is just outside (suspicious?). He pulls her out and they head around the corner to find Megan's body flayed with the heart missing and the words "BE MINE 4 EVER" scrawled in blood above her body. A little later, Sarah is being treated by an ambulance team and is about to be taken to a hospital when she tells Axel that she knows that he and Megan were sleeping together.Elsewhere, we see things unfolding pretty much normally at the Palmer household, with Noah watching cartoons and Nora doing laundry....until Harry sneaks up behind Nora and makes quick work of her. Outside, Ferris is in her car almost asleep when Burke knocks on the window and tells her that Harry is inside. Ferris takes point and finds Noah crouched behind the couch and Nora in the washing machine while Burke tries to secure the porch and instead gets axed. Over at the hospital, Sarah is getting her wounds bandaged when she gets a call. She answers and hears Tom on the other end, telling her not to trust Axel and that he found something he needs to show her. He picks her up from the hospital just as Axel gets a call from Martin regarding something about Tom. As Tom is driving Sarah up to the mine and stressing how sure he is that Axel is doing all the killing, Sarah gets a call from Axel. Tom tells her not to answer but she does, and Axel tells her that Martin found out Tom was in a mental institution for seven years. He tells her to try to get away and then call him and they quickly hang up. She tries to tell Tom to stop and when that doesn't work she grabs they wheel and yanks it so hard that the car impales itself on an overturned tree branch. Tom gets knocked out momentarily, and Sarah escapes. She calls Axel and he tells her to go to his dad's old cabin (the one Tom was at earlier). She gets there just as Tom finally crawls out of the car and inside she finds about three hundred heart-shaped candy boxes and one miner trying to kill her. She runs for the front door but can't get it open so she goes with the option of diving out a second-story window onto the sloping roof and running from there to the mine.At the mine, Sarah runs into the wide-open Tunnel 5 entrance and heads into a locker room where she quickly gets lost among the maze of falling miner outfits. The miner shows up and starts hacking through them and she goes out the other end and into the mine proper. She runs throughout the tunnels and runs into Axel. She steals his gun and tells him about the boxes, but he thinks (at first) that she's just talking about the one from Megan and is confused when she points out the other three hundred. Tom comes out a side tunnel and she points the gun at him too, although both are saying the other is the killer. Axel suggests shooting them both and Sarah seems about to do it when Tom points out that "Be Mine 4 Ever", the message over Megan's body, was the same as what she wrote to Axel. Sarah stops breathing and slowly asks Tom how he knows about that, since she didn't tell him. Before he can answer he sees Harry behind Sarah and tries to warn her, but she doesn't believe him and Harry....walks right through her. She tells him that Harry isn't there and Axel realizes that he is there....inside Tom, and we now see Tom digging up Harry's body and taking off the outfit after doing the killings and attacking Irene and seeing Harry in the mirror (make your inevitable Fight Club comparisons now). Axel asks "Harry" if that's right, and Tom grins and says, "Oh yeah," before attacking Axel full-on. The two struggle and Axel gets a pickaxe through the gut (non-lethal). Sarah knocks Tom into some old crates and she and Axel run, hiding behind a corner like they did ten years ago. Tom gets it together and starts for them, knocking out lights as he goes. Axel gives Sarah his gun with one bullet and tells her not to miss. She waits until Tom is right by some gas tanks and then fires. The bullet hits home and then goes right through Tom, hitting the tanks and making them explode and the walls collapse.Some time later, we see a bunch of miners searching the rubble for any survivors. One guy thinks he sees something and heads on ahead. He starts talking to the victim he found, Tom, and telling him he'll be okay. Tom stares at the guy, seemingly not comprehending, and then he picks up a pickaxe and drives it through the guys skull. Outside, Sarah and Axel are being brought out -- her on her feet, him on a stretcher. They tell each other they love each other as Martin approaches. He asks them what happened to Tom and they tell him that Tom is dead. As the ambulance drives away, the rescue team comes out, all accounted for. They start to disperse, heading their separate ways, and one of them pauses at the top of the hill for a look around. He takes off his mask, and glances around. Tom nods, satisfied, and then heads off into the forest...

            Married couple, Sarah (King) and Jason (Chen), along with their son Sammy (Oey), return to Vancouver from their home of Shanghai of 6 years, for the funeral of Uncle Raymond (Foo). It is during this time that Sammy begins to see ghosts and falls gravely ill, all coinciding with the Chinese festival of Ghost Month. The traditional western medicine proves to not help, so Sarah turns to a mysterious pharmacist who tells her that her son is held in a death grip by a living corpse. Sarah now must find what the spirits want before the last day of Ghost Month, or Sammy will be lost forever. [D-Man2010]

            In a cat-filled mausoleum in Central City, Denny Colt (Gabriel Macht), also known as the masked vigilante The Spirit, receives a phone call from Detective Sussman (Dan Gerrity) about something big going on near an old shipwreck in the mudflats, something that could involve the Spirits arch-nemesis, The Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson). The Spirit dons his costume and travels across rooftops while delivering a voice-over soliloquy about the city being his one true love. A woman (Kimberly Cox) is being mugged in an alley below. He manages to save her, receiving a knife wound that he seems to not even notice. The woman asks, What are you? The Spirit runs away, catching a ride from Officer Liebowitz (Frank Miller) and heading toward the flats.At the swampland, a beautiful femme fatale, Sand Saref (Eva Mendes), rises from the water and appears to shoot Sussman multiple times. The Spirit and Liebowitz find the wounded Sussman, but a flashback reveals that it was really the Octopus who shot him in an effort to recover two identical chests underwater. Sand and her husband Mahmoud (Eric Balfour) tried to flee with both chests, but the Octopus wounded Mahmoud and snapped a line connecting the two chests. Sand escaped, leaving one chest behind, which the Octopus retrieved from the murky depths.After the Octopus kills Liebowitz by ripping his head off, he sends away his cloned henchmen, Ethos, Pathos, and Logos (all played by Louis Lombardi), to be alone to take on the Spirit. Octopus accomplice Silken Floss (Scarlett Johansson) drives up, running over Pathos in the process. She departs with the cargo, expressing her thoughts that the Spirit and the Octopus will be at it all night.The two enemies do indeed take part in a long and highly stylized fight. A still quite alive Pathos shoots the Spirit, putting the hero down for the count, while the Octopus claims that he and the Spirit share a connection in their capability to take such great amounts of punishment.The Spirit is awakened by his lover Dr. Ellen Dolan (Sarah Paulson), daughter of Police Commissioner Dolan (Dan Lauria). Appearing to be in perfect health despite his gunshot wounds (something which has occurred seemingly many times before), the Spirit is reluctant to be admitted to a hospital but Ellen insists. He is shocked to notice a gold locket in Sussaman's hand; a piece torn from Sand Sarefs neck earlier. He is berated by Commissioner Dolan, the only person who knows the Spirits true identity, for the loss of two officers due to going after the Octopus without permission or backup.Sand Sarefs locket contains pictures of a much younger Denny Colt (Johnny Simmons) and Sand (Seychelle Gabriel). The two grew up together in Central City. Denny bought Sand the locket as a gift to satisfy the girls love of diamonds and other such shiny things, including the Golden Fleece of Jason and the Argonauts. They lived happily until Sands father, a cop, was accidentally shot dead one night in a struggle between a mobster and Dennys uncle, a washed-up (and presumably alcoholic) boxer who then committed suicide. Sand said she now hated cops. Fleeing to Europe, she was never heard from again for fifteen years. With her back in Central City, the Spirits interest is obviously piqued. He concludes that her desires of youth have evolved into a criminal career.In a secret lair, the Octopus and Silken Floss open the chest but discover that it does not contain the mysterious Blood of Heracles as expected, but an unseen object that produces an otherworldly glow. Incandescent with rage, the Octopus exaggeratedly slaughters three of four more cloned thugs and orders a fourth to commit seppuku. He learns of Sands involvement in the mixing up of the chests and the villains decide a trade is in order.Sand and Mahmoud visit the office of a high-class fence named Donenfeld (Richard Portnow), whom Sand paid to locate the underwater treasure she wanted -- the Argonauts Golden Fleece. It is implied that Donenfeld gave up the treasures location to the Octopus as well to ensure his familys safety. For selling her out, Sand transfers Donenfelds payment into another account, then persuades the fence to shoot himself.At St. Alices Hospital, the Spirit has fully regenerated good as new. He nearly seduces Ellen, but she has a clearer understanding than expected of the Spirits tendency to fall in love with every woman he meets. Commissioner Dolan angrily enters with young rookie cop Morgenstern (Stana Katic) and calls the Spirit away to a case.Sand's history as one of the worlds great jewel thieves is relayed to the Spirit, the cops both unaware of his past life with the suspect. Unable to believe Sand could be a criminal, the Spirit tracks her down. He is about to arrest her when caught off-guard by her standing before him fully nude. He also sees that Mahmoud has died due to tasting the Blood of Heracles. Sand doesn't recognize the Spirit as the presumed-dead Denny. She is stunned when he reveals his knowledge of her looking for the Golden Fleece. Sand shoves the Spirit through a window. His trenchcoat stops his fall when it snags on the horn of a gigantic ram statue.Morgenstern calls with a lead: Pathos was found near the mudflats with his shoes covered in industrial salt. It allows the Spirit to deduce that his nemesis is headquartered under the Feiffer Industrial Salt plant. After taking down several clones, he enters a sewer tunnel and comes face-to-face with Floss, who kisses the Spirit as a distraction while she injects a knockout agent into his neck.In the Octopuss lair, the Spirit awakens to find himself tied to a dentists chair and surrounded by Nazi paraphernalia. A beautiful belly dancer sensuously dances behind a curtain, prompting the Spirit to break the fourth wall and claim to recognize her as the strangest woman he has ever encountered. It is revealed to be Plaster of Paris (Paz Vega), a psychotic assassin. The Octopus enters after a message from Sand an exchange of the Golden Fleece and the Blood of Heracles has been arranged at the city projects. The Spirit is told the story of the Octopus's quest for immortality. His and Flosss experimentation eventually led to the creation of a serum (something of a scientific equivalent to the Elixir of Life) that could grant immortality or, at least, nigh indestructibility. Dennys corpse was used as a test subject. He awoke in a casket, broke out of his grave, and went to see Commissioner Dolan, creating a new identity to fight crime as a police spy. The Octopus injected himself and arch-enemies were born.The Octopus intends to drink the mystical Blood and expand his immortality toward becoming a god. But first he intends to kill the Spirit by having Plaster slice him into tiny bits. She instead cuts him loose when reminded of a romantic encounter. The Spirit then gives the Octopus a beating, crushing him under a large Reichsadler eagle statue. He escapes with Plaster and they kiss, only for her to impale the Spirit on her sword.Bleeding profusely, he stumbles to the city docks, collapses into the water and confronts the beautifully ethereal Angel of Death, the siren Lorelei (Jaime King), who has haunted the Spirits sleep. He is the only man to have ever wrongfully escaped death. His hallucinations lead to surreal images of her taking him where he truly belongs. But he manages to gather his senses by remembering Ellen, Sand, and the city all needing him. As the Spirit swims to the surface, Lorelei vows vengeance.The Spirit is again put into Ellens critical care in the hospital. At the projects, Sand and her lastest henchman fly in with the Blood of Heracles to meet Floss and a clone carrying the Golden Fleece. After a four-way standoff, Sand attempts to convince Floss to get out of serving the Octopus before he kills her. They transfer the treasures and both minions are shot, at which point the Octopus emerges from his truck. He asks Floss for the vase. Unable to take a side, Floss drives off as the Spirit suddenly materializes.The Octopus unloads with progressively bigger guns, downing him with a pair of four-barreled shotguns. Dolans SWAT team then storms the area and opens fire. The carnage ends when Morgenstern uses a huge combination RPG to blow off one of the Octopuss arms and Dolan shoots him in the head. The Octopus gets to the Blood of Heracles and prepares to drink it, but Sand shoots the vase just in time. The Spirit then uses a grenade to blow the Octopus to smithereens.Showdown over, the Spirit gives Sand her locket back. They kiss as Ellen looks on, feeling betrayed. The old flames bid each other goodbye and the Spirit convinces Dolan to let Sand go in gratitude for saving the world. He tries to patch things up with Ellen, but she accepts that their relationship will always be fractured. Elsewhere, Floss discovers the Octopuss severed finger crawling toward her. She picks it up and departs with it, planning to clone the octopus.
