Sold into slavery, she spends next six years working for a Sudanese family. After 6 yrs she is sent to London where the slavery continues.Stripped of her passport and living in fear of what might happen to her family in the Sudan and fearing that she will not be able to cope with freedom should she speak out, Malia is trapped.With the help of a complete stranger, she summons up the strength to make a dramatic escape back to Sudan to the father who never gave up hope that she was alive and who never stopped searching for her.

            Its November 1999, and five days are about to rock the world as tens of thousands of demonstrators take to the streets of Seattle in protest of the World Trade Organizations Ministerial Meeting. Among them are Django (Andre Benjamin), Sam (Jennifer Carpenter), Lou (Michelle Rodriguez) and Jay (Martin Henderson). Each has a unique story, but they're united in a common desire to be heard and to make a difference in the world. For these four protesters, this is very personal and the stakes are higher than mere politics.A peaceful demonstration to stop the WTO talks quickly escalates into a full-scale riot, and soon a State of Emergency is declared by the Mayor of Seattle. The streets are mayhem, and the WTO is paralyzed. Caught in the crossfire of civil liberties and keeping the peace are Seattle residents, including its beleaguered mayor (Ray Liotta), a riot cop on the streets (Woody Harrelson) and his pregnant wife (Charlize Theron).             From the Sundance Web Site: Denni Mobama, owner and chef of a small African restaurant in Brooklyn, has worked six years to bring his fiancée Janet Matashane to New York, where he lives with his mother, Ma Denni, and brother Pete. Eager to uphold their Basotho culture, Denni and Janet have a traditional Basotho wedding culminating in a ceremony where Janet is named for her yet-to-be-conceived son, George.Determined to please her husband, Ma George begins her new life with gusto and hope. Her days fill with cleaning and cooking, visiting Denni at the restaurant and window shopping at the Fulton Mall where she meets a childhood friend, Kendra, whose cosmopolitan life intrigues and entices her. At night, she watches TV and waits for Denni to come home, hoping and praying for George.As the months pass and her pregnancy attempts fail, Ma George's loneliness intensifies. She secretly takes a job behind Denni's back and is introduced to immigrants just like her.
