Born and raised on Chicago's south side, Elijah Long's break into the industry came when legendary director/producer, John Hughes, filmed a movie in his hometown. The young actor auditioned and was cast in Hughes' production of New Port South, sharing the silver screen with Melissa George, Raymond J. Barry, Michael Shannon and Will Estes. Impressed by Long's raw talent, Hughes told the young artist to use his name as a reference to secure an agent.Determined to realize his dream of becoming a star, Long relocated to the Big Apple. There, he honed his craft, acting in Equity stage plays in and around New York City.In 2003 Long moved to Los Angeles to focus on film and television. He immediately booked two features and made his starring debut in the film For Real, directed by veteran television star Tim Reid.Following this debut, Long quickly amassed several television credits, including Everybody Hates Chris, Jericho, The Young and The Restless, Nip/ Tuck, and The Ex-Effect.E! Style Network booked Long for the hit show Clean House, where he and the cast earned an EMMY nomination in the "Best Ensemble" category. Following the nomination Elijah co-starred with Hugh Laurie on "House M.D", the Fox series,"Lie to Me" (Tim Roth), "Lincoln Heights," Steven Spielberg's "On The Lot" and Lifetime Network's The Protector starring Tisha Campbell to name a few.Recently, Long gave a chilling performance in the award winning Showtime film, Mississippi Damned and co-starred with Mekhi Phifer in the romantic comedy, Love Section.
