Courtney D. Harris was born in Lexington, Kentucky to Charles and Gwendolyn Harris. She grew up a tomboy playing sports with her two older brothers, Thaddeus Berry and Jarvis Harris. Being shy, her Mom put her into modeling at age 4, which led her to New York at age 5. Auditions, Ritz Bits, Totes, commercials, etc. It was there that she realized acting was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. After a few weeks of dry spells in New York, her family decided it would be best to move back to Kentucky.She continued doing modeling regionally, but mainly she had a wonderful childhood playing sports, making friends, and participating in plays. Her first and major play was, "Colorblind," she played the lead character, Lojo, a young girl who was conflicted with her identity and that of her mother's.When she arrived to LA in 2010 she began doing commercials, short films, and Meisner Training at the Joanne Baron/DW Brown Studio. She was also introduced to writer, director, and producer Don B. Welch.
