            The film opens with Jericho Stewart (Kevin Costner) standing on a beach. His voice-over states that "they" thought they knew what they were getting when they got inside his head, but they were wrong. He promises that anyone who hurts him will get hurt worse. A van pulls up behind Jericho, and a man steps out. Jericho turns to face him.We jump to a while back in London, where CIA agent Bill Pope (Ryan Reynolds) stops in a shop to pick up a duffle bag full of money. Bill takes time to call his wife Jill (Gal Gadot) back home. The two have a daughter, Emma (Lara Decaro). Bill is being observed by his superior Quaker Wells (Gary Oldman) and fellow agents Marta Lynch (Alice Eve), Esteban Ruiza (Amaury Nolasco), and Pete Greensleeves (Scott Adkins). Bill is knowingly pursued by anarchist Xavier Heimdahl (Jordi Molla). His right-hand woman Elsa Mueller (Antje Traue) follows Bill as he hops into a cab. Elsa and other villains catch the cab and shoot the driver before capturing Bill.Bill is taken to an abandoned building and is tortured by Heimdahl with electrical cables to give up information on Jan Strook, aka The Dutchman (Michael Pitt), a hacker that has created a wormhole that would allow Heimdahl to bypass computer codes and infiltrate central governments. Bill tells Heimdahl "fuck you", which Heimdahl respects, but also gets Bill a cable to his mouth, and he is electrocuted to death. After Heimdahl and Elsa leave, other CIA agents find Bill's body and inform Wells that he is dead.The CIA gets in touch with Dr. Franks (Tommy Lee Jones), who has been working on a memory program that places the memories of the deceased in the head of a living specimen. The plan is to put Bill's memories in someone's head to locate Strook, as he was trying to sell his program to the CIA. They decide on using Jericho, who is known as a remorseless killer with no emotional development that resulted from a childhood incident in which Jericho states that his father threw him out of a moving car and damaged his frontal lobe.We see an interview between Heimdahl and Piers Morgan in which Morgan asks Heimdahl his intentions. Heimdahl states that he thinks the world would be better off without governments, and thus he plans to take them all down.Jericho is taken out of prison for the procedure to begin. Bill's memories go into his head, but the procedure nearly kills Jericho. Later, Wells and the other agents view a video message from Strook, who says he will give the CIA his program in exchange for protection and money, as he had originally been working with Heimdahl, but once Strook changed his mind, Heimdahl got furious and is after him now. Strook is then seen calling the Pope home to ask for Bill, but Jill informs Strook that her husband is dead.After the memory transplant succeeds, Jericho is being transferred by two agents, but he uses a makeshift hook to cut one of the agents and lead to a crash that results in him escaping. He has the cars blow up to make it look like he died.Jericho makes it into town and steals some food and beats up some men to take their van. He then heads over to the Pope house to find the bag of money. He ties Jill up in her bed. All the while, he begins to see some of Bill's memories, most of them involving his time with Jill, but also a vision of the money bag being hidden behind a shelf of George Orwell books. Jericho goes back to the room and unties Jill. He then gets in touch with Ruiza through the home phone, claiming Emma may have hit a button again. Jericho then flees the house.We see another video of Strook stating his plans to sell his program to the Russians now out of fear that the CIA has betrayed him, and the CIA has roughly nine hours to respond to Strook's deadline.Back on the streets, Jericho continues seeing Bill's memories, and he is starting to gain Bill's personality and skills while jumping between that and his natural self. Jericho tries to get himself a drink and orders it in French, mistaking it for Spanish, and one man corrects him before calling him a motherfucker, leading to Jericho breaking the man's nose. He then heads to the library and logs into the computer with Bill's codes, which the CIA discovers.Jericho finds Franks to help him get medication for his head hurting as a result of Bill's memories overwhelming him. It means that Jericho is now able to develop emotions. Their whole encounter is monitored by the CIA. As he leaves the pharmacy, Jericho is taken by several agents. Elsa, who was watching, follows.After a tense encounter at the headquarters between Jericho and the other agents, Jericho is being escorted by Wells to another location. Heimdahl creates a distraction by making it look like Strook was spotted at an airport. This leads to Elsa and Heimdahl's other goons to find the agents and start shooting at them, resulting in the deaths of some agents including Lynch. Jericho escapes the shootout by driving off a bridge.Jericho returns to the Pope house. Jill points a gun at him this time, but Jericho is less hostile this time, and he tells her a memory only she and Bill would know to prove he has Bill's memories. It's about how their first car smelled like fish and chips, and the exhaust blew out a week later. Jill later sees Jericho outside with Emma as they bury one of her toys. Despite being worried at first, Jill realizes that Jericho would not hurt her or Emma. She lets him stay the night.The next morning, Jericho discovers that the money bag is hidden behind a bookshelf in the library at the university where Jill works. He heads there to retrieve it, leaving Elsa to break into the Pope house and abduct Jill and Emma, while Heimdahl gets Jericho. Wells and his team learn of this, and they head out after them, while the Russians have their own team out looking for Strook.Both the CIA and the Russian team circle the university as Heimdahl's goons take Jericho away. He then remembers that Strook is hiding in Jill's office. Elsa forces Jericho to guide her to the office. They pass by the lab, which lets Jericho make a bomb to get away from Elsa. He rushes to Jill's office to find Strook and talk to him, but Elsa finds them. She shoots Strook in the head and nearly takes the drive with his program until Jericho emerges and beats her to death with a lamp.Jericho races to the airfield where Heimdahl is planning to escape with Jill and Emma, despite Wells telling Jericho it's too risky and that lives are at stake. Jericho makes it there and reluctantly hands the drive to Heimdahl so he can let Emma go. Heimdahl shoots Jericho and makes his escape on his plane right before Wells and his men arrive. As Wells yells at Jericho for what he's done, Jericho reveals that he had Strook reprogram the wormhole so that anything launched from that program would hit wherever the launch was made. Therefore, the missile that Heimdahl launched to hit the airfield ends up flying back toward his plane, blowing him (and the wormhole) up.A while later, we see Jericho at the beach he was standing at in the beginning. He is met by Jill and Emma, along with Wells and Franks, and some other agents. Jill and Emma know that Bill lives on in Jericho's head. Wells then tells Franks that he is going to offer Jericho a job.

            In this prequel to 'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: the Beginning', the film opens in rural Texas in the year 1955 at the Sawyer household, a birthday party is being held by the family matriarch Verna Sawyer (Lili Taylor) for the youngest member of the family; Jedidiah. As his present and to induct him into the sadistic family rituals, he's presented with a chainsaw and forced to torture a man who they've accused of attempting to steal one of their pigs. Jed refuses, visibly disturbed, and the thief is killed by Grandpa.A few months later a young couple, Betty Hartman and Ted Hardesty, are driving through the family's territory when they come across a seemingly wounded Jed. Betty follows him to a dilapidated barn where she's promptly killed by the family. A few hours later, Betty's father Sheriff Hartman (Stephen Dorff) arrives to find her dead. As Verna arrives to protect her sons, Hartman quickly takes Jed into his custody as revenge, sending him to a mental asylum for disturbed youths.The film skips forward 10 years later to 1965 where a new nurse is starting at the mental health facility. The new nurse is named Lizzy (Vanessa Grasse) and she quickly forms a bond with patients Bud and Jackson (Sam Strike) who is oddly charming and respectful. Verna arrives later that night with an injunction in attempt to have the teenage Jed freed but is rejected by the director of the facility. She breaks in, causing a riot during which many of the nurses and patients are killed. Lizzy is saved by Jackson who gets her outside to safety where the two are promptly taken hostage by two crazed, over-sexed escapees named Ike (James Bloor) and Clarice. As they leave, they come across a bloodied Bud, who has just killed the hospital administrator and they decide to take him with them.The group arrive at a rest stop diner shortly after changing clothes. Following an altercation with waitress Tammy (Nicole Andrews), Ike and Clarice quickly begin to brutally kill the patrons including a mortally wounded Tammy, in the scuffle Bud is shot and the group flee. Sheriff Hartman arrives on the scene with Deputy Sorrel (Finn Jones) and discovers that one of the group is in fact the teenage Jed and quickly sets off after them.That night the escapees take refuge in an abandoned mobile home where Clarice and Ike make love revealing her scarred body and involve the corpse of the mobile home owner in the debauchery. While everyone is asleep, Lizzy tries to escape but is stopped. Ike continually insults Bud and is later killed by him. The next morning Clarice notices Ike is missing and heads off to find him. Jackson and Lizzy find Bud sleeping on Ike's corpse and quickly take him away.Clarice is apprehended by Hartman. She is hostile and refuses to co-operate and insulting both him and his dead daughter. Hartman then shoots Clarice in the head as the others watch from a distance. Jackson and Bud continue on with Lizzy in tow. As a Deputy passes, Lizzy screams out only to inadvertently get Bud killed. Bud's death sends Jackson into a rage, he kills the Deputy and has Lizzy drive them in the cop car to safety.During their drive the two are pursued by a now insane and deranged Hartman who opens fire on the two, seemingly killing Jackson and causing Lizzy to careen off the side of the road.Later that night, Lizzy, finding herself handcuffed in a cop car, answers a dispatch call alerting another officer, Sorrel, where she is. Sorrel visits Verna and reveals to her that Hartman has her son, Jed, at the old barn where Betty was killed and Hartman had Jed taken away. Verna has Sorrel killed and fed to the pigs and heads to the barn to save her son. In the barn, Jackson is revealed to be alive and Hartman reveals to a horrified hostage, Lizzy that Jackson is in fact Jed. Verna arrives and has Hartman incapacitated.Back at the Sawyer house, Verna stitches up the large wound in Jed's face and applies a muzzle to hold his face together. She then leads Jed into a room where his siblings are holding Lizzy and Hartman captive. She gifts Jed his original chainsaw and Lizzy watches on in horror as Jed bisects Hartman, killing him.As the family celebrates, Lizzy escapes fleeing into the woods and the Sawyer family give chase. She reaches a main road just as Jed catches up to her, but his chainsaw begins to malfunction. She hesitates until he gets it started and proceeds to chase her down a long road slowly gaining ground. Lizzy almost escapes but is caught in a bear trap. She attempts to appeal to Jed's good nature, having seen the good within him, as Verna tries to encourage him to kill Lizzy to protect their family. Jed begins to soften as Lizzy pleads with him, insisting that he is not a killer until she insults Verna, calling her crazy at which point he brutally decapitates her.The next morning Verna is seen burning evidence of the night's events as the elder boys feed ground up remains to the pigs. Down in a basement Jed is seen creating his very first mask from Lizzy's face which he has sewn together to become Leatherface.

            Medical student Zoe Parker reluctantly attends a party at her medical school, Whittendale University, at the behest of her friends. While retrieving a keg of beer from the morgue, Zoe is confronted by her disturbed patient Max, who is obsessively in love with her and whose blood has an unusually high level of antibodies. He attacks and attempts to rape her, but a corpse reanimates and bites into Max's throat. Zoe flees and warns everyone at the party, but hordes of the corpses, later dubbed rotters, burst in and kill all except Zoe, who escapes through a window, only to find the city besieged by rotters.The survivors of the initial outbreak are sent to refugee camps. Zoe is sent to High Rock Emergency Bunker, run by Lieutenant Miguel Salazar.Five years later, High Rock Emergency Bunker has lost contact with the other camps and with headquarters. Zoe and her friend Elyse serve as the camp doctors, treating illnesses and using rotter blood samples to create a cure for the rotters, although Miguel believes a cure is impossible.Miguel, at Zoe's urging, sends Zoe, Elyse, his brother (Zoe's boyfriend) Baca, Frank, Lucy, Derek, and Thomas on a supply run to retrieve medication from Whittendale University for Lily, a little girl suffering bacterial pneumonia. While taking medication from a professor's office, Zoe encounters Max, now partially a rotter. Horrified, Zoe flees and accidentally attracts the attention of other rotters. The group saves her, but Frank is infected and is killed. Zoe successfully administers the medicine to Lily; however Max has managed to enter the camp.Due to Frank's death, animosity between Zoe and Miguel increases. While walking on her own, Zoe is attacked by Max, but signals for help and is rescued by Miguel, Baca, Thomas, Lucy, and Derek. Realizing that Max is not fully a rotter, Zoe convinces Miguel to allow her to use Max's blood to create a vaccine, and Miguel gives her 48 hours to create it, having been convinced by Frank's wife Elle.Zoe and Elyse realize they need to test Max's blood on blood samples from live rotters. She convinces Baca to help her by opening the gates to allow one rotter in and take a blood sample from it. Although this initially goes well, rotters burst through the gates, kill Thomas, and infect Elyse. Miguel kills several rotters and seals the doors to the compound, and, ignoring Zoe's pleas that she can use the vaccine on her, kills Elyse.Miguel tells Baca that earlier he saw Zoe's name carved into Max's arm. When Baca confronts Zoe about this, she tells him about Max's rape attempt.Max steals the keys to his handcuffs from Alphonse during a scuffle. Max begins to taunt Zoe, telling her repeatedly, "You are mine", before freeing himself and attempting to rape her again. However, he is fended off by Baca.Lily's mother, whom Max had previously infected, chases after Lily and kills Derek. Max kills her and chases Lily to the motor pool.The remaining military personnel arrive, but Max opens the doors and allows a horde of rotters inside, which kill Miguel, Elle, Lucy, and several others, although most of the rotters are killed. Lily flees outside, and Zoe chases after her.Max follows them into a greenhouse, where Zoe, hidden in mud, disembowels and decapitates him. Zoe and Lily walk back into the compound, where she finds an infected Baca about to commit suicide. Zoe convinces Baca she can cure him with the vaccine and injects him with it, curing him. Sometime later, High Rock Emergency Bunker has been repaired, and Zoe sends a message to any remaining survivors that they have the vaccine, while the rotters' growls are heard from within a nearby forest.

            Christine McDonagh (Natalie Scheetz), a 30-something woman who is about to marry Steven, decides to hold her bachelorette party in Las Vegas with her friends Olivia (Christa Campbell), Claire (Annika Strauss), and Barbara (Sarah Hayden). Christine's foster mother (Caroline Williams) bids farewell to her daughter, then bludgeons a bound and gagged man with a hammer.After the party, Christine's group begins driving back to Chicago in an RV, and it is revealed that Christine has a troubled past and an unspecified mental illness, which has caused her to carve inverted crosses into her abdomen. During the trip, the quartet pick up a hitchhiker named Joe (Jeff Dylan Graham), who they quickly eject from the vehicle due to his strange behavior. A short time later, the RV is flagged down by a religious female police officer (Manoush), who claims that her squad car has just broken down off the road and that she needs a lift to the nearest town.When the RV fails to start, the officer has Christine and Barbara stay behind while she, Olivia, and Claire go in search of aid. Once they are a considerable distance from the others, the officer begins acting deranged; she stabs Claire, and shoots Olivia in the knee. The deranged female policeman then calls her son, Glen (Jared Demetri Luciano), help her move Claire.Nearby, serial killer Max Seed (Nick Principe) chases and murders a woman (Micaela Schäfer), and makes his way to the RV, where he incapacitates Christine and Barbara. After taking the wounded Olivia to the RV, Seed meets with the officer and Glen, who are his wife and son, respectively. Seed orders his family away, and nails Claire to the ground.After the Seed clan leaves, Claire is found by Joe, who releases and tries to rape her, prompting Claire to stab him in the neck with one of the spikes she was crucified with. At the RV, Seed restrains Glen while the officer recites passages from the Bible, and stabs him. Seed reaches into Glen's wound, rips out his intestines, and strangles him to death with them.Reentering the RV, Seed makes Barbara watch as he rapes and shoots Olivia with a handgun. When Seed leaves her alone, Barbara crawls out a window and tries to run away, but is shot to death by Christine, who refers to Seed's wife as "Mom". It is here that the deranged female policewoman, (who has the name tag of Officer Seed) is revealed to be Emily Bishop, the young child Seed abducted at the end of the previous film back in 1979, whom he has now raised, to be a serial killer like him.When Claire reaches the RV, Seed attacks her, but is stopped by Christine, who tells him, "No! With her I still have plans". As he and his family head home with the unconscious Claire, Seed snaps Emily's neck, and continues on with Christine and the captive Claire.In the final scene during the end credits, a motorist stops when he sees a bloodied Claire lying on the side of the road, and begins trying to call for help, only to have his throat slit by Claire. Seed walks up to Claire, and gives her his mask, which Claire puts on, now having been brainwashed and joined the murderous Seed family as their latest killer.
