He won the 2012 Apple Distinguished Program award for his Academy of Media Arts. His humanitarian efforts led him to establish the SoCal Student Film Festival, a regional, high school, student film festival, which has been sponsored by the U.S.C. School of Cinematic Arts, Chapman University, Columbia College Hollywood, and Taco Bell.
