Cedric Gegel is a stage and film actor in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born on September 1, 1994 in Lima, Ohio. He was raised in Wapakoneta, Ohio and graduated from Wapakoneta High School in 2013.Cedric attended Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, graduating in May 2017 with his Bachelor's of Arts in Communications with Emphasis in Theatre Studies and Public Relations. While in college, he played stage roles like Link Larkin in "Hairspray" (which won him a "Merit in Acting Award" from Amil Tellers Theatre), Sonny in "Xanadu," Uncle Peck in "How I Learned to Drive," Lucas Beineke in "The Addams Family Musical," and Black Stache in "Peter and the Starcatchers." Cedric's film debut was in the 2014 short "Fracture" in a leading role and was followed by several short films. He began to write as well, eventually writing and filming a personal project, "Hidden in Stone," as well as penning the award-winning short films "Lazaretto" and "Over the Wall," both of which also featured him as an actor.In 2016, Cedric was cast in the science fiction feature film "Programmed Series: Aznek" as one of the leads and in the indie comedy "A Murder Party" with a major featured role. Cedric returned to his character in "A Murder Party" with the upcoming series "The Coroner's Assistant," based on his character. Cedric wrote and directed the fantasy feature film "Cadia: The World Within", starring Corbin Bernsen and James Phelps, which is set to be distributed nationwide in 2020.Cedric is a cancer survivor (epithelioid hemangioendothelioma) and is an advocate for cancer survivors. He has also spoken publicly about mental health and his faith, and has been invited to speak at youth conferences and thespian workshops, where he discusses acting theory in practice and the filmmaking process.In the summer of 2019, Cedric moved to Philadelphia with his wife and began working there and in New York City.
