
            Mohan Bhargav (Shahrukh Khan) is a GPM at NASA. Mohan's parents were killed in a car crash whilst he was studying at the University of Pensylvannia, leaving him alone in the world. Mohan had a nanny named Kaveriamma (Kishori Balal) who lives in India - Mohan decides to return to India and bring Kaveriamma so that he can take care of her. Mohan learns that Kaveriamma is living in a village named Chananpur. He travels there, where he also meets his childhood friend Geeta (Gayatri Joshi) who now teaches at the village school. All too soon, Mohan realises how harsh village life is after experiencing problems such as gender discrimination, child marriage, lack of education, caste disctrimination and poverty amongst other things. Mohan now decides that he must help the villagers.

            Rohan and Sanjana is a couple who is engaged to be married in some days time. But, unfortunately Rohan a group of masked kidnappers take away Rohan. Assistant Chief of Police ACP Singh is called by Rohan's father to investigate. It's supposed that kidnapping is done for ransom. Meanwhile Sanjana starts getting hallucination of Rohan in another attire and is dumb-struck when she tells her best friend Nitu that she can speak and read Urdu language even though she had never even heard it. They both visit a psychiatrist who explains about reincarnation. To find it whether Sanjana had any past life, psychiatrist perform a hypnotism.In Sanjana's hypnotise state, she learns that in the year 1947 when India-Pakistan separation war was very high, her parents were killed in cold blood by their own relative in the name of communal riots. The rioters were looking to kill Sanjana (named add Geeta in the past life) and her sister Nitu are running to save their lives even Rohan (as named Iqbal in past life) along with his friend save Geeta's life but her sister Nitu is killed. To keep Geeta safe, iqbal and his friend brings him to a stranded house where cyz tells iqbal that he won't let marry iqbal with a non-issue Muslim
