Alex Kip is a multifaceted artist living in New York City with a B.F.A. degree in musical theater from the University of Michigan, and a graduate in acting from the London Dramatic Academy. As an actor, he's appeared in THE AVENGERS, indie films, TV, and a slew of regional credits as a leading man. As a writer, his first play MY OTHER VOICE, based on his experience as a cancer survivor, premiered at the Arthur Miller Theatre was named "The Best of the Best" by the Detroit Free Press, covered by NPR, and other major news outlets. His writing has also been profiled in the Huffington Post. In 2012, Alex opened up his own production company AKip Productions as a way to educate, inform, and inspire others through the performing arts and multimedia.The all-American Midwestern grew up in Columbus, Ohio (home of the Buckeyes) but quickly switched his loyalty to the University of Michigan (home of the Wolverines) to pursue his dream. He was the typical football loving, egocentric, obsessive singer until everything changed one fateful day in April. During his senior year of college, he was diagnosed with cancer and later told he had a 15-30% chance of survival.
